love this game to death and will probably keep playing it for years to come, both for the downright addicting gameplay loop that gets more enticing the more you pour hours into it, and for the fact it's basically a virtual museum of horror containing some of the most iconic and biggest names in the genre

however it's the opposite of a beginner-friendly experience so i can't really recommend it, unless you're ok with having to endure a probably awful experience for your first 2 weeks of playing

Controls are REALLY stiff, the whole game feels like it's running on 0.75x speed and I still don't understand if I can go back to the main menu without closing and restarting the game all the time.
Still, I'm glad I kept playing it because it's a fun, creative passion project made by someone who clearly really loves these franchises and put a lot of thought and care in the game. The movesets are fairly balanced and true to the characters, and you can end up making some cool combos if you get used to the clunky and slow controls. The idea of writing a parallel storyline that connects all of these characters while also taking into account their respective (and often really messy) canons and power levels is so crazy it's truly admirable that they even tried in the first place. And I feel like it worked really well, despite some inevitable plot holes in certain character endings. There's also a bunch of non-playable horror icons appearing throughout the various story modes, and I feel like that was a cool idea to fill some gaps in the roster.
The graphics are not the best, but when put together with the cheesy UI and the cutscenes (movie stills that were cut and pasted over other movie stills) they grow up on you, they definitely fit the vibe the game is going for.

Terrordrome - RofB as a whole really feels like the videogame version of an underrated horror B-movie. Campy and very rough around the edges, but also really creative and passionate. Giving this a higher score doesn't feel right because of the gameplay issues, but if you are a fan of the franchises here represented you'll definitely appreciate this, I know I did
