so many truly precious memories and treasures. this game was like a best friend to me in early adolescense, and i could tell stories about the friends ive made and the things ive seen whilst playing it like an old grandpa talking to his granddchildren.

definitely a worthwhile addition to the series. graphically, its the best animal crossing has ever looked, it has far more options for customisation and reasons to keep playing, a new location which is always nice, and there was a period of my life where i was sinking hours into it every day and constantly finding new things to see and do, new bugs to catch and new fish to catch. and yet, there is something missing here that was in new leaf, and im not entirely sure what that is. maybe its the bland villagers with the same 10 or so lines of dialogue, maybe its the lack of a bustling shopping district to visit, who knows. its a real shame because other than that this could easily be the best in the series. also this has the best museum in the series and its not even close

had my fun with it, but it kinda ends when you finish building the high street

one of the defining games of my childhood. it's a shame that going back to it is so rough.

still holds up, and has the best villagers in the series. they are just so joyously and frustratingly unpredictable. outside of the menu being a nightmare to use (handhelds have really spoilt me) and the graphics not being that great this game is still one of the best in the series. it has so many little quirks and charms not seen in any of the others, and feels like the one the devs had the most fun making. they are experimenting, and inviting you into that experimentation with a cosy warm hug. i love it.

made me feel physically ill and left me paranoid for the rest of the night i played it. awesome stuff.

lives up to its cute-as-heck tagline and then some. not the most polished game in the world, but god damn its charm and wonder kept me hooked either way. pretty much every level is fun as hell

like all good puzzle tile-matcheroo games, it's very deceptively simple but in reality has a lot going on mechanically. math as a central mechanic in an arcade game is a very nice concept. brilliant fun with a genuinely challenging campaign VS mode and cute idol girls with ridiculous names galore. hell yeah.

extremely charming and very informative. i've learned how to play a lot of games i wouldn't have touched otherwise with this. plus, it's a blast to play with friends.

for an NES game this has aged really well. probably the most adorable game on that console.

the sound effects in this are incredible

quite possibly the only game i can confidently say i'm actually not half bad at. easily the game i've played the most in my life.
