Back however many months ago, when Nintendo first revealed Splatoon 3, I was initially very against the idea. I liked the first Splatoon a lot, but I could never get that into the sequel. Going by that, I wasn't confident that I'd be interested in another game on the same console.
Fast forward a bit, the game comes out, I have completely forgotten about it. Then, for whatever reason, I remember it, take a few looks at some of the characters, the gameplay, and suddenly I'm very interested.
Damn glad I eventually got around to it, too, Splatoon 3 might be my new favorite in the series (even if it's only 3 games.)
Story mode is pretty easy throughout (except for a few missions, fuck those hit the target stages in particular), bosses end up decreasing in difficulty as it goes on, but that doesn't mean it's not all super fun. I loved experimenting with each and every different weapon, sub-weapon, and special weapons, and the levels designed around them. Exploring the little hub world is also a super satisfying experience, throwing Small Fry around to try and dig up some extra collectibles, sometimes sunken scrolls that give you really interesting dives into the lore of the games, which is one thing they do shockingly well. All rounded off with a hype as hell ending. Haven't gotten around to the extra postgame mission, yet.
Turf Wars are also fun, now super fast paced with all the new abilities and movement options, and still very diverse in all the different clothing options and the perks they give you.
Aside from all of that, the music still bangs, the style is still cool, I like this game very much, 10/10.
