The better of the DLC episodes, this one focuses more on puzzle solving and leans into surrealist interpretations of the environnements to good effect. It’s interesting and surprising, though neither DLCs advance the story significantly.

The Writer - Honestly, one of my favourite parts of the game. The intuitive mechanics of shining on words from the manuscript was fascinating. It also got gut-wrenching at times, especially with the fake conversation with Alice and the final confrontation with Barry. The internal conflict throughout the episode completely nails the psychological thriller aspects of the game that I had come to love, too. I also really liked Zane's role, it created a cyclical structure similar to the beginning of the game. Lastly, the ending was the perfect cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see how Wake's journey continues in AW2, whether he returns to the real world or not.

Definitely the better of the two DLCs

More creativity here in the level design which doesn’t mostly consist of reused areas from the main game this time. The exploding words mechanic is a much bigger and more fleshed out aspect of the gameplay, enemy spam isn’t as bad, and there’s more interesting stuff going on story wise. Alan’s VA also gives a much better performance in these DLCs than in the main game too which is nice

Fighting Barry was so tediously long. I don’t really like the dlc

Better than the "Signal" , but not much more
