I liked the main game, but the main new mechanic this DLC introduces just isn't fun and makes for more frustrating platforming, something that wasn't the original's strongest suit to begin with. the amount of backtracking you have to do if you miss a single purple flight ring isn't huge, but it's enough to quickly become very annoying and I have better things to do with my time

this dlc is so bad it makes me question if all the stuff i liked about the main game was just a fluke or insincere and that's really upsetting.

i think it was perfectly serviceable as a DLC, i just don't remember anything about it. might feel differently about the game if i played it closer to my playthrough of the main game.

Journey to the Savage Planet was an exercise in brevity that many, many other games could learn from. It had no filler and let players explore and tinker with the titular savage planet without overstaying its welcome. By that very notion, DLC almost seems counterintuitive to such a lean game. Hot Garbage, the game’s first premium add-on, doesn’t fill the game with some of the aforementioned warm trash, but is instead another carefully restrained yet safe helping of the main course.
