An unnecesary ending to the already pretty autoconclusive deponia trilogy.

I have to say that I really enjoyed the time-travel mechanics and how well integrated they are in some gameplay segments (even though towards the end they get pretty convoluted). I also liked the comedy which is pretty much the same as in the rest of the series. And that is about it.

The game feels like a pointless attempt to revive a series that is already dead, it can be nice to play but it doesn't really get anywhere. Don't expect more closure than the original trilogy because you won't get it. Even the game is aware of this as it sometimes jokes about its own futility.

On a side note, at this point I expected they would have grown out of transphobic jokes but apparently not. I think they have tuned it down a little (as it is just a small part of the first stage) but still a good point not to play it.

The one that was totally unnecessary

no one really asked for this one

I only played because of the hot redhead

Couldn't really catch me for a reason

"Time travel stuff" is never easy - Rick & Morty proved it. This game feels like a bonus episode of the previous trilogy and fills a gap for people who want to stay a bit more in the Deponia world. It was good to return because the end of the third part didn't feel like an end and the game had some good moments and quirks, but overall implementing time travel in the story feels like fixing old plot holes and makes it feel random.
I like the developer as they are pushing point'n'click adventures and my start with Rufus was rough, but I'm glad I played all Deponia games and can fully recommend them.

Play this only if you are okay with leaps of logic, love randomly combining items and randomly applying them

Only Daedalic could follow up their trilogy with a worthy successor, and they do it. Throwing the pacing around, alternate timelines, knowing what happens in the end before knowing it's the end, and the whole meta discussion around what the fans want an ending to be versus the creator's vision. An absolute delight, and the only bad thing is that we've reached the peak of the genre and it's only downhill from here - for now. I've been waiting for so long...

Series fans will definitely want to play this but should be prepared for a very complex story...

Another fun-filled adventure, but this time, in time travel! Anyone who has completed the last game would guess that this would have to have come into play, as there really was no other way to continue it without bringing back certain characters. Not much I can say about the story besides that it gets confusing and would leak into spoiler territory.

There are many moments of laughter, but I certainly don't believe this was as good as the previous entries. It feels like this was made as a response for people who were upset with the ending of the last game, more than anything else. Either way, if you enjoyed the series so far, check out this ending and I hope you won't be disappointed. I kind of was at the beginning, but more I think about the ending, it fits well.

Should have stayed a trilogy but stillfun

i'm gonna go ahead and call this my favorite game in the series, which i'm aware is not the popular opinion

i liked the ending of the trilogy, it felt appropriate that rufus, of all people, shouldn't have the happy ending, as someone like him can't really grow without learning to sacrifice, and that last choice he makes at the end was the biggest sacrifice someone as self-centered as him could possibly make

it ruled!

but it sucked that goal had no closure, especially since she was treated as nothing but an object (a literal "goal") throughout most of the series, the subject of jokes, the victim of rufus' bullshit, but you know, it's a comedy, so we allow for the fact that she falls in love with him anyway, because, well, i do anyway, guess i can't speak for everyone

but... then he disappears from her life, and the last thing we see of her is cletus pretending to be rufus to the elders on elysium, as she walks out the door

she gets nothing

but this game, despite starring rufus as the protagonist once again, is much more about her coming to terms with everything he did, good and bad, and i admire the developer's commitment to the original trilogy's ending, while finally giving goal the opportunity to move on

it's also remarkably less sexist in tone, although the shit with lotti sure did amp up the transphobia angle, unfortunately... a case of some steps forward and some steps back, i guess

puzzle-wise, i found a lot of the time travel loopy stuff to be too tedious in ways even clone-rufus didn't bother me, but i'm such a fan of the plot in this one that it doesn't even matter!

Sono abbastanza indeciso su questo.
Il gioco resta cinico, ma non aggiunge nulla alla
storia. Un grande vaffanculo alle persone che
hanno odiato il finale del terzo capitolo

Unnecessary continuation but still fun to play
