Visually pretty, short little game jam project. Like most of it's kind, Rental is a little rough around the edges but the idea and presentation is strong, I kind of wish it was a full game- or at least extended somewhat with more structure- but that's how these event games usually tend to go. But otherwise, its pretty cute (and free), a perfectly harmless way to kill a few minutes.

Feels good to play a game vaguely Inspired by silent hill and that meaning snarky teen girl protag and not dead wives.
Really like the protag's design she's sooooo cute! Unfortunately just feel's really empty even for a 20 minute thing. Feels like the kinda thing that's short not because that's all the time they needed to execute everything they wanted to do but because it was a week long game jam project. I'm sure game jams are a fun activity but sometimes that shit needs more time in the oven!!!! the maze was cool. idk what I'm supposed to feel when green filter man comes on screen. Making me play it twice to see like 10 extra seconds of dialogue is laaame.

Another game I wish I liked more. The characters are cute and the premise is interesting enough, but I also kind of feel like it's not really doing anything interesting with it. Feels a bit like the sort of game where they just throw random bullshit in it because they don't actually know what they want to do. A maze? Really? Have mazes in games ever actually been fun?
I think there very much could be something really cool here if this was expanded on.

Ummm... Short and simple but really enjoyable graphics! Was super cute rather than scary. Completed in less than 10 minutes soooo yeah it's pretty short and stuff... YIPPEEEE!! Probably would've enjoyed it more if things were more in depth, but since it was free there's really no reason to complain.

it's a jam game for sure. was hoping for a little more horror but the few scares they threw in didn't amount to much. the charming art and okay audio can't save the "walk around and interact with things" nature of it. which isn't inherently a bad nature to have when something interesting happens when you do so! anyway don't listen to me it took me 5 minutes to realize the mirror maze was a mirror maze lol
If they decide to expand on this game it could be something great! really in love with the style, the character design and just the atmosphere in general. it's kind of a nothing game with how short it is, it feels like a teaser to the actual game in a way.
TLDR; VERY short, hope this game gets more content. LOVE UMI!!!!!!

One of those really strong ideas for a game and the aesthetic is definitely there, but the experience is too short and insubstantial to make a huge impression. Spent more time being annoyed that I got lost in the mirror maze than actually soaking up the creepy atmosphere. I’d love to see the developer turn this into a meatier experience.
Rental is average at best, but you won't miss much if you play the game, as I finish the game with all achievements within half an hour. The game is like Silent Hill and Resident Evil with the aesthetics of Animal Crossing. I was more annoyed than scared, especially with the maze. I feel that the game tried too hard to be frightening and came off forced. There aren't any accessibility options or controller and mouse support, and you can't even exit the game without terminating the process. I hope for something more eventful with this, as it's candidly promising. If possible, please add native Mac and Linux support.
A delightfully spooky short horror game that takes a pretty intriguing pitch; what if cutesy animal crossing characters went to silent hill, and really delivers with a deeply unsettling atmosphere. I don't know if there are actually any threats or fail states in this game, but it's so efficient at creating dread that it doesn't really matter, and to me that's the mark of great horror.
