I got this game on the Switch's launch day and tried to play it a bunch of times with friends, but inevitably we always ended up feeling a little awkward and embarrassed about the fact that we were a bunch of haggered late-twenties men hunched over a cutesy papercraft game, clutching little multi-coloured controllers that looked ridiculous in our big stupid ham-hands. Thus, the game languished at the bottom of my library for four years.

Cut to present day, and ~my girlfriend~ and I have exhausted most of the good co-op games the Switch has to offer. She ends up buying this on the eShop, only for me to realise about halfway into the second level that I actually own a copy already. Woops!! Awkward!!! At least it's cheap!!!

This is primo Girlfriend Gaming right here! Is this the first romantic co-op game? Uwa... After playing through the first few stages, it totally makes sense why this game gave me the self-conscious willies when played with The Boys - it's all about that to-and-fro negotiation between couples, sprinkled with all these tiny intimate moments, like when you sidle up close to make some adjustments to your partner Snipperclip and they start giggling - so cute! I love it... You might think I'm reading too much into it, but the last couple of levels involve protecting a little group of babies from a variety of hazards before putting them down to sleep. And then the game implies that the Snipperclips fuck! Whoa!! N-Nintendo!!!

The game's puzzles are rarely difficult, but that isn't really where the fun of the game lies - the best moments are found in sharing something cute with someone close to you. Or fiendishly fucking them over so that you can see your Snipperclip do a little shit-eating grin. It's fun!!

Played this whole game in co-op (like it's supposed to be played). Sometimes I felt too dumb for the challenges and I think we completed some of them the wrong way. I guess it's part of the game, but it sadly didn't always feel satisfying to figure out the puzzles.

My thoughts:
(+ = (mostly) positive; - = (mostly) negative)
+- Gameplay;
I'm mixed about the gameplay. Some solid levels in which it was really fun to solve the puzzle. Other levels were very frustrating, because the game is very precise with certain goals you need to reach. It's a fun game to play in co-op, but be prepared for some arguing.

- Music;
I feel like the game only had 1 song or at least they were all very similar.

+ Graphics;
Fun artstyle I can appreciate. Nothing groundbreaking but special enough to be recognized.

+- Story/Characters;
Didn't include any.

Yes if you want to test your relationship/friendship. It'll show who's the smarter one 😏.

it was fun back when it was literally the only game on my switch

A legitimately unique puzzle-y time killer

fun and cute weird little switch eshop shit, good for a couple hours

Funny but frustrating game. Super fun to play with your partner

Another just cute game, I love Snip and Clip to bits

whole music industry literally shitting their pants, shaking over how good lil' papercraft puzzle game soundtrack sounds

It's where you SNIP people, and if you snip the WHOLE person, they disappear and just reset, and it's funny that you can just SNIP people because I love SNIPPING PEOPLE until they're aaaallllll gone! Uh-huh! That is my favorite part.

Pretty fun co-op game with a nice handful of unique puzzles to do.

Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together! is a neat launch-window game. It takes advantage of the Switch hardware in a unique way that makes it a fun time with friends. However, it's pretty light on content and you'll be done with it in only a few hours. Still, it'll be a fun few hours, at least.

I played it with my sister and a session never lasted more than 3o mins out of frustration

multiplayer puzzle games stress me because everyone is worse than me

A fantastic and cute way to end a relationship, using really well thought out and creative puzzles, which requires a lot of lateral thinking and the concentrated hate of your 1000 ancestors.

Pretty fun game to upset your wife with

an actual thing i have experienced: snipperclips-adjacent sexual tension

Really cute fun to play with the wife/girlfriend, even more if she's not a gamer or is really bad at them. She loved it, but thought it was too short. I can see it being a little unconfortable to play with friends (there is something intimate and cute about the entire gameplay) but lovely to play with your partner.

While short, this highly amusing coop experience is very, well, amusing. The simple yet zany puzzles work really well taking just the right amount of coordination while not being particularly hard. The simplicity is especially well suited to playing with a single joycon per player, which was brand new at the time and in need of games like this that showed off how useful it could be. Basically, this was an amusing novelty that came out at the perfect time.

Snipperclips is a cute little puzzle game with a fun gimmick that is used incredibly well. The clipping gimmick was really fun and led to interesting puzzle designs with a good amount of variety in the types of puzzles. My main issue was just how easy it was to brute force the puzzles, me and my girlfriend got through not all of them, but a good amount of puzzles without even having to cut each other and got through them easily. Overall though, it's a fun puzzle game that if you're looking for a two player co-op game with someone, I would highly recommend.

What a cute little introduction to the Switch.

to jogando com a minha namorada e eu amo mt ela

First switch game, played it with my ex-best friend, watched all sorts of YouTubers play it. Pleasant enough.
