Ultimate Chicken Horse is, hands down, the greatest competitive platformer I've ever played. Games like Duck Game get pretty close, but Ultimate Chicken Horse has something that they don't: originality. It's a stage creator with a competitive aspect. You aren't just playing levels; you're actively making them. Most of what you'll make is stupid, sometimes impossible, and borderline outsider art in its execution. But that's the charm of Ultimate Chicken Horse. It's the kind of creative game that a person with no creativity can enjoy without any reservations. And it will never not be fun for that.
I absolutely adore Ultimate Chicken Horse. If you're looking for an excellent four-player game to blaze through at a party, this is a perfect candidate for your selection.

Got back into this game recently and I forgot how much it rocks. Nothing is funnier than placing a single piece with such a catastrophic effect on the level and watching your friends realize how fucked you all are because of it. It's silly and chaotic in such a great way. This is the perfect stupid game to play with your platformer-enjoying friends
This might be my favorite party game ever. Get a good group of friends and you can have countless hours of fun setting up increasingly difficult levels to try and prevent your friends from reaching the end. It’s pure joy reaching the end of a level nobody else could or accidentally combining insane traps that react in unpredictable ways. Even after getting all the trophies, I still play this game on a regular basis because it’s that fun.
Be it couch co-op or online with friends, Ultimate Chicken Horse delivers some of the most fun I've had playing multiplayer with friends in years. Good wacky fun with plenty to unlock.
However, that time spent with the game was only maybe a few play sessions. Once the novelty wore off, we messed with the settings to make it even crazier. And once that novelty wore off, we were all kind of done. Loved the time we spent with the game, but I really wish it had held our interest for longer.
+ Great multiplayer with custom modes
+ Lots to unlock
- The gameplay itself gets old after a bit

An incredible multiplayer platformer that leads to crazy outcomes every time with the sheer variety of stages, hazards, maps, tweak-able settings and more that makes it all a blast with multiple people!
Trying to make paths around or through obstacles to the end while also trying to sabotage others is always a fun time and highly under-utilised in party games like this. Well worth a try if you have 3 or more people to spare!

This is the best party game I've come across.
It's essentially easy to understand Mario maker against your friends where each player gets to add one item to the stage, then all players try to make it to the end of the resulting level. If no one or everyone makes it, no points are awarded, but if only some people make it, then points are awarded in accordance to who completed the stage, who did it first, who's traps got kills, and if you grabbed special items. The game then goes on a set number of rounds OR until one player passes the points "finish line".
This leads to an incredibly fun and wacky time where each player is trying to build levels that they can complete but no one else can. It's been a very consistent hit with every group I've tried it with. Strongly recommend as a party game amongst friends.
