It's a fun, polished rhythm game with a good selection of songs. The groups are pretty diverse, so you'll probably find one or at least a character that appeals to you. The characters themselves are fun and cute, and the writing is charming, with more nuance than I would have initially expected.
It's also pretty heavy with gay subtext (if that's appealing to you), and there's a character that goes by they/them pronouns canonically which is pretty cool to see. I have problems with the translation being a little too liberal at times with some choices, and sometimes characters sound a bit more sassy than they normally would? But overall it reads fine.
It's a love letter to vocaloid and the community that formed around it after all these years, and you can tell that it was made with care.
Anyways. I like it! It's fun! It's cute! It rekindled my love for vocaloid!

I have always liked rhythm games since playing the guitar hero series on ps2 and 3, THIS made me into a fan, not only for the gameplay itself which is surprisingly addicting, but the bangers that have taken over my entire Spotify playlist made me appreciate Vocaloid a lot more than i thought I would. Also this game gave Shiho 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
SEKAI is a concoction of everything I love about the rhythm game genre but still executed extremely poorly, with dull charts and mechanics and a plot that's relegated off to the side to make the game's holistic ludonarrative practically nonexistant.
Add in the game being a senseless live service that adds meaningless content that hardly improves the experience and SEKAI makes its gacha mechanics the least offensive aspect of its design.

A better Bandori than Bandori.
Been a few weeks since I've kept with it, so I think my fixation on this game is over for the time being.
It's the first mobile rhythm game I've played where I did actually start to care a little bit about the characters and try to keep up with their stories. But unfortunately, the mobile and gacha format just inevitably make me lose interest. I don't enjoy feeling pressured to constantly keep up or fall behind on things.
