The metroidvenia part of the game is soo lacking. I wish I could genuinely get lost instead of stuck in area and be forced to finish it before going to the next.
However, no one can deny the absolute polish and smooth gameplay it has and you never wonder where to go next (witch is as I mentioned is both a positive and a negative)

I started out not really feeling this, but ended up getting more into it by the end. This game feels more Hollow Knight inspired than Ori 1, and that suits me better because I like that game more. Overall a better game than Ori 1, but I couldn't help but feel this game tried to do too much and suffered for it.
Significantly improved upon its predecessor, but it tried to do too much and got lost in the sauce. Also, waaay to many things that the game plucked out pf other titles to just be "inspiration" or "culmination". It feels more inspired by the other games than its prequel at times which is sad.
It is an exceptional platformer tho.

essentially taking the best parts of blind forest, and trying to combine it with hollow knight. however, I found the shards/perks to be rather useless, not even bothering to figure out a good loadout, but instead just choosing ones that sounded good
the world in this game was definitely more interesting than the first, and the music somehow manages to be even better than the first game - 10/10 soundtrack and art design
the gameplay was a huge step up from the first game as well, and there were actually BOSS FIGHTS. what was cool about the fights were some of the chase scenes before and in between them, Ive never played a game with that type of switchup in a fight before. Fantastic platforming game, would give it a 10 but I had some minor issues (especially the very last phase of Shriek fight... couldnt tell what was happening and just pissed me off), and it feels too short to give a 10
ultimately, fantastic game, one of my favourites that ive played in a while

I liked the first Ori game a lot. This game is more of the same but better in every aspect!
The platforming was satisfying, but a bit floaty at times. The combat was really nothing to write home about, same as the first game. The new upgrade mechanics are a good addition though. And yes, they're basically the charm system lifted from Hollow Knight, except with upgrades.
My favorite part of this game is how lovely the world is, and how it actually uses dynamic changes in the environment. A frozen world that gets slowly thawed out, some obstacles melting, others coming back to life. A thin cavern full of acid becomes an expansive underwater ecosystem once you cleanse the source of the water. It was super satisfying to me and I loved every moment I spent in it.
