This is the best Persona game in the franchise. Fantastic themes and writing but you have to play Innocent Sin first to fully appreciate it.

Step down from Innocent Sin because most of the game is the same and the sort of some "secret items" to make demons with OP spells which didn't like.
The antagonist is the best one from all SMT games (include Persona).

A unique modern setting with an equally interesting protagonist that only builds on innocent sin. A crescendo
to the end of Okada's production in the series. Its a great game all the way through that offers moral questions that are thought-provoking. A remake would be great!!

The better Persona 2 game, in my opinion. A more solid and easy to follow plot, a fun adult cast, and more.

peak fiction man, definitely the meaning of peak fiction

good but slightly worse than IS imo

Played it on a pstv and like the onyl reason im giving it a 3.5 is because it's the game that made me bored of persona (to be fari ti was the last one i played) but i never beat it and i thought it wasnt as good as innocent sin

it really doesnt get much better than this

Story is pretty good, but the gameplay is tiring at best.

Pareil que le Innocent Sin, trop de grind mais histoire et persos très bien amené

the psp version of this is such a huge QOL leap up from innocent sin it's not even funny. turns it into a pretty darn strong dungeon-heavy jrpg. really, really sucks that said psp version never made it west. also it had a talking cat that wasn't morgana

Change your way, it's gonna be alright

i appreciate how most of eternal punishment's playable cast consists of adults that never truly become friends with each other (aside from ulala and maya) and only look out for each other because it's what they have to do. i also appreciate how these adults don't allow the children bear through their pain alone and choose to bear that pain alongside them, because loneliness in struggles is one of the worst experiences a child can have.

The second chapter in the Persona 2 duology refines the gameplay systems of its predecessor to make a more enjoyable experience while continuing the story with even more unique, lovable characters. This is the heart of the Persona 2 narrative and concludes it in a masterful way.

I love this game so much despite all the flaws, it's a very important game to me and I think it's probably the peak of Persona imo.

Im slrry for benign bad at smt games i eas born this way

BEST persona game

try to stayyyy positiveeeeeeee

good story and characters, gameplay sets it back

not as good as IS but still a must play

i have no clue why this game gets overlooked so often when it (alongside innocent sin) has one of the greatest stories in the entire megami tensei franchise.

Great game. Good story, well-written characters, etc. Grinding for Persona ranks turns this from a 30 hour game to a 50 hour one, though.

I really don't understand the weird ass combat change where you have to go through 3 fucking menus to input a set of moves. It's implying that this game is less strategy focused and more spammy, but the challenge of the game would tell you otherwise. The game itself is not an insane challenge, but there were bosses where I would have to change my moves every other turn, which is annoying when you need to go through these menus to do so. I really enjoyed the characters of IS, and was insanely disappointed with how they played almost no role in this game. The new main team is very good, and I think everyone was very well written besides Maya getting an obvious downgrade because this game really totally needed a silent protagonist. The story, while good, was kind of just IS again but adding the memory loss aspect to it and swapping the characters.
