It is a reflection of the crustiest self-indulgence and excess of the FGC before eSports began to sanitize everything. Full of jokes that will make no sense to all but a very small subset of a small niche of gamers. In a sense, its a time I am thankful we are past, because there were a lot of "influencers" within the community who were in fact very harmful people. As a fighting game, this doesn't even pass for something to run on a kusoge night. Its full of corny humor, ugly to look at and it isn't actually fun to play. They were more interested in epic references than trying to make the game at all appealing to anyone outside of their hyper-specific niche. Once again, a reflection of the nature of competitive fighting games during the era of Street Fighter IV.

This game would smell just like those green cans of Axe deodorant.

It's a fun little fighting game. Great game to play with friends, but there's not really much to it unless you're REALLY into footsies.

BISCUITS HOPS ON COMMENTARY. ART NERVOUSLY LOOKS AT HIM WHILE HE HANDS HIM THE MICROPHONE."WHAT'S GOOD MONSTERS, ROLL UP, BLAZBLUE IS ASS, SKULLGIRLS IS STRAIGHT BOOTY" ARTURO SIGHS IN RELIEF AS BISCUITS HASNT SAID ANYTHING OFFENSIVE YET. "YO MONSTERS, HOOK ME UP WITH SOME DIVE KICK TORRENTS. I AINT SPENDING 20 BUCKS ON THAT GARBAGE FLASH GAME." "UGH-HA UGH-HA UGH-HA" AS ARTS HAND HOVERS OVER THE MIXER. "YO ART, WHENS BLAZGREEN?" ART NERVOUSLY LAUGHS "UGH-HA UGH-HA UGH-HA" AT BISCUITS' ATTEMPTS TO DESTROY E-SPORTS "MAN, ARE THERE ANY PEOPLE BESIDES ME THAT HAVENT GOTTEN NECK FROM SHERRY ?" BISCUITS ASKS THE STREAM. ART KNOWS HE HAS TO INTERFERE. "YO aaaAAAaaa, BISCUITS BLOWING IT UP". ART MUTES BISCUITS MIC AS HE CONTINUES TO RAMBLES ABOUT NECK AND TONSILS

A beautiful game. I love the sheer purity of it, and how streamlined it is while also being full of personality and flavor. Two buttons, that's all you need. Dive and kick. It has mind games, spacing, snappy responsive gameplay, special moves, everything you need in a fighting game. I love the variety of play styles and charm they jammed into the roster, I love all the dumb jokes, and I love playing against folks. It captures the spirit of fighting games with none of the barriers to entry. <3

the fighting game of all time

this is unironically the most fun ive had w a competitive game. get like 8 people together if u can and run tournaments. its so fun dude. just the perfect amount of depth for an almost zero execution test

It is what it is. A 2 button fighting game that is pretty damn fair. Not complex, not very deep but fun for what its trying to do.

Street Fighter 4 players make a game about how much they hate Yun and accidentally recreate Power Stone.

playing this shit with friends gets me hyped

The concept is really good. It's simplicity makes its easier to get into it with other people. Though, the art style is not very good and I always had some troubles with controllers not detecting

Stupid fun with friends - two button fighting game that honestly is worth the money. No barriers in terms of gameplay to pick up and enjoy.

Not much single player content, but good as a quick game to play with friends if you're trying to get them into fighting games.

I will never understand the haters for this one.

They made a decent fighting game that only uses two buttons... dive and kick.

Was this supposed to be funny?

A l'ancienne avec des gens j'sais même plus qui mais ct bien con ce jeu de con x)))))))))))))

If you're really, and I mean REALLY, into the competitive scene, which I am not, you'd like this game.

It's a joke game that's actually pretty interesting and deep to play. It's perfect to play every once in a while but you'd never want to actually study or learn it for real

It’s a fun boiled down to basics fighting game and a nice love letter to the genre.

The number one goal of any joke fighter should be to make it fun, divekick does just that.

Making a fighting game so simple that players of any skill level can enjoyably compete with one another is a gold standard idea. Divekick is stupid, but that's exactly what the some splitscreen multiplayer games need to be.

"with every dive comes kick
with kick, dive"

interesting concept for a fighting game. stupid character balancing, however. still can't believe this game used to have actual tournaments.

Hilarious parody of the fighting game genre, proving there can be depth at even the most minimal of fighting games. Worth a try if you are into the FGC, however it can seem repetitive and dry for those who aren't familiar

A fighting game simplified to it's most essentials, where everything is done with only two buttons and no joystick movement. A very deep and fun game despite it's simplicity.
