me and my toddler daughter love to play this on road trips

I adore ps2 games of movies and shows and this was no different. Great range of playable characters and puzzle solving missions. But my god some of the final boss levels were so hard and would have 8 year old me raging trying to complete them.

Shrek 2 is a game I've played for 10 years ago and I still think it's spectacular, whether it's the graphics, the story or the characters.

Mechanically, it has the mechanic of having 4 characters in the game, however if one dies in a location you can't progress until you've defeated all the local enemies. The problem is if you have enemies outside where the character died it will be difficult to defeat them because you can't get there.

The cast of the game is Shrek, who can pick up things like barrels and throw punches, Donkey who has the specialty of destroying chains with his paw symbol, Fiona who can stop time (a very random choice), Gingerbread Man who has the specialty of throwing cookies that attract enemies and also throws a candy cane, Little Red Riding Hood who is a useless character, an alethoric fairy who shoots as if she were a minigun and a wolf that blows and attacks is good for two stages.

Historically, there are parts of the movie but they create random stories like going to Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother's house or entering a world of humanoid frogs that are stone monsters, that's really random, the end of the game is literally the end of Shrek 2.

The game's bosses are interesting, for example, the bomb-throwing monster, which you have to throw back at him, the giant pumpkin that creates mini pumpkins, which you just have to punch, the stone monster that you have to find the right timing to defeat, the prince charming who you just have to punch and the fairy godmother who appears a few times and at the end of the game.

The design is nice, it's in keeping with the vibe of the movie, especially the swamp, far far away and the penultimate stage of the game, the character designs are nice and not too dated, however, the fairy who wears pearls has nothing to do with the character design, it seems like they've changed their style.

The game has special stages called "Hero time" which are stages if you lose you go back to the beginning, these stages can be a game of rhythm, defeat enemies, get the item, a boss fight, game to reach the enemy and others, initially I liked the idea of these stages, however when repeating so many times I found it a bit boring again especially the penultimate one, because the game did not perform the jump action I clicked the X button.

This game has a BUG THAT WILL LITERALLY FORCE YOU TO REPEAT THE WHOLE STAGE, when I had the first boss fight against prince charming it went to the other side of the invisible wall (it just fell off the map) besides there is no way to go back to the checkpoint and also in one stage Hero Time literally appeared on the screen saying checkpoint when I was halfway through the stage, then I died and started at the beginning (my sanity went after that)

All in all, this game is incredible, but sometimes you'll be stressed out by the possibility of these bugs and not being able to restart any stage.

I played that game a lot in my childhood and this shit is practically part of me, I miss it so much and I hope to be able to play it again one day.

This game was not good I know that for a fact. But little me would say otherwise.

AY, LADDY! You just got Shreked! Tag your friends to totally Shrek them!

Maybe its just nostalgia but i had a blast playing this as a kid

Shout out moms for sneakly beating the levels i couldnt get passed

"Hey Donkeyyyyy...."
"Oh right, MY BURROW BLAST!!!!"

Loved this game as a kid. Doesn't hold up in the slightest. But it has 4 player co-op and with friends this game can be pretty fun.

Very likely this game isn't as good as I remember it being, but god damn this is a childhood gem.

The feeling of completing the final level of this game at youth club as a child in front of a crowd of other children all surrounding the ps2 and cheering as I do.... Nothing will ever compare. 5 stars.

For some reason I thought this was an RPG, and I gaslit myself into thinking they made an awesome Shrek RPG

I remember having to fight spiders in this and crying for hours cos they were so scary

Лучшая игра в мире, в которой ты уничтожаешь всех за любимого Огра и не только!

I was hoping that they improved the quality of the tie-in game for the sequel, but this is dreck too.

Fighting Puss in Boots with four players is one of the funniest video game experiences possible.

i THINK the donkey is a horse in this one... always loved that. shrek's humansona and donkey's horsesona...

Idk how it holds up but it made an impression on me because it was one of my earliest gaming experiences.

It didn't play "I Need a Hero", so why should I even bother?

I played this in one sitting, coop with a friend. It was a lot more fun than I was expecting, but it still wasn't amazing. There were a couple bugs that forced us to restart a room a couple times which was annoying.

Played this once in a hamburger restaurant when I was young. Not even kidding, they had a console and that, and was playing while my parents were talking by the table.

The whole beginning is a fetch quest. The gameplay is bland. The level design is uncreative. Yep this is an early 2000s licensed game.

The only redeeming quality is the fact that it is 4 person multiplayer and it is a good chuckle with your friends.
