Only reason this isn't a half star is so league of legends can hold it's shit throne

Awful DLC for a great game. Having a bank is cool I guess...

i don't normally write reviews for dlc but this shit was so bad i just had to let everyone know.

borderlands 1 is already a game im sort of mixed on. its not bad but it doesnt really do anything amazing. however i was hooked on it for a bit because of how addicting the core gameplay loop of looting and shooting is.

this dlc really only does one of those things, which sucks because the shooting in borderlands on its own makes for a really boring experience. and that's exactly what the underdome is. an offensively boring experience. supposedly it's issues stem from it being designed for co-op play, but the base game is also designed with co-op in mind and still manages to be fun in solo.

enemies in this dlc are way too tanky, they deal way too much damage, half of the modifiers are actually fucking nothing, while the other half are ridiculously annoying to deal with and make the game more frustrating. you're forced to sit behind walls waiting for your shield to regenerate and occasionally run out to pick off a few guys and go find another wall to sit behind. rinse and repeat for about an hour and that'll be one arena completed. theres 3 of them.

i do not believe for a second this shit was playtested.

Allright DLC for the main game.

Borderlands is a fantastic game. It combines high paced action with good mechanics, a fun story, upbeat dub step music, humour, filthy jokes and does not take itself seriously.

I enjoyed every minute of the main game, it's story and the collecting of loot, cash and special items. And then I played the DLC’s. My god, they were even better. The DLC’s are all over the place and add a fresh new mini campaign in each one of them with a completely different idea and style.

In this DLC, They added a wave shooter mode in Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot. I personally did not like this DLC as much because of the unforgiving difficulty and the fact that it is impossible to finish in solo. If you don’t have any friends (or friends with time on their hands), bad luck for you my bro. In the end, i managed to beat it, but do not ask me how...

I like that they combined jokes, characters, and events from the main game and the other DLC’s into each DLC, it makes everything feel more connected. Examples are Zombie T.K. Baha (killed in main game) and General Knoxx as a puppet in Claptrap’s revolution, who finally died in The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, just like he so desperately wanted, but now is back as a zombie-puppet.

Overall, the main game and it’s DLC’s are in my top 10 favourite games of all time, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Me commends them for adding jiggle physics just or one character

who the fuck thought anyone would like to play arenas that last 3 hours

This dlc is comically terrible. Outside of the introduction of Moxxi, this dlc has nothing of value. The arenas are a lazy reuse of assets. And yet, Gearbox took this already generic dlc and managed to make it one of the most ridiculous gaming experiences I've ever had. Partaking in these arena battles rewards no XP and primarily low-tier loot. There is no real reward to partaking in this dlc. Even more bizarrely, these arena battles start off short, only to then ask you to fight in 2 hour versions of them. Why? Why is it TWO FUCKING HOURS. When I realized that it had been an hour and my friend and I were only half way through one of the arena battles, I began to laugh maniacally. Who sat down and decided to do that? What were they actually smoking?

Meh...it's a battle royal that's to long and uninteresting. Also, other than a couple of skill points, there's no real reword or story, so it's kind of pointless to playthrough.

If the original Borderlands had some of the worst, most boring combat you'll ever touch in a video game - imagine emphasizing it even more in a deeply terrible series of combat arenas with splitscreen play that doesn't even look coherent (dead serious) no matter how much you screw with the settings. "CoD Zombies - but shitty" is a concept that seems like it would fit this series like a glove, but there's no flavor here - Moxxi is barely an entity at all in her own DLC and the levels are mid at best, horrible at worst. Duke Nukem Forever's Hail to the Icons Parody Pack is unironically a far superior multiplayer shooter add-on than this, ten-fold. Acutely tedious, still somehow not the worst of the base game's DLCs.

"Absolutely Pointless"

Such a bad expansion for this game, and really disappointing after the generic but fun "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned". Mad Moxxi is designed in a, let's say, "interesting" way, but there's really nothing about this DLC that's worth your time. The wave defense is very repetitive and frustrating, and it generally feels like filler compared to having something to provide with story or interesting side quests. The loot is very poor quality, and the addition of a locker is never something I found necessary to this game or any others in the future since most of the time you'll find a better gun in no time.

Final Verdict: 3/10 (Poor)

Painful enemy hoard with lackluster, repetitive gameplay.

A bland colosseum DLC. It's not worth another sentence to review

They catfished me with Moxxi into playing this DLC.
I thought that maybe it would be more fun with other players but I was wrong. Literally put me to sleep. Just skip this DLC, will you?

Yeah DLC 2 Isn't great, It's just a massive grind to get through and for basically no reward. I rarely enjoy arenas in games, but if the reward at the end is worthwhile or it adds some new bosses i don't mind it. Mad Moxxi's Underdone Riot doesn't really offer anything new to the game, nothing worthwhile at least. You don't even get xp from taking out the 200+ enemies per arena, which really bugged me. I don't think its the worst thing ever, but it doesn't really warrant its existence either

I'M ROTTEN.
(BUT MOXXI IS CUTE)

Probably the worst DLC I have ever played in a game. All it is is just fighting tons of hoards with no save progress. Actually felt a bit of brain rot developing trying to complete these challenges. I guess one upside is you do get the bank, but personally I don't plan to do other playthroughs and save weapons.

enemies dont give exp so worthless for grinding

An absolutely abysmal, low effort piece of content that’s made even worse in the remaster because it introduces crashes. Not only is having to fight enemies for THREE CONTINUOUS HOURS on the same map, and then having to do that THREE TIMES not fun, it’s also a complete waste of time and energy. This is the worst thing Gearbox has ever put out, and that’s including Aliens, Battleborn and their Duke Nukem games.

Very boring time-waster. Don't do the larger challenges if you value your sanity.

This was the biggest waste of fucking time ever. If I could give this zero stars I would.

nothing about this dlc is good

Again, kind of wish it was more than just survival mode. A new character doesn't come looking like that and not have story missions attached.

A tedious wave-based arena slog. Doesn't even have the decency to tell a half-assed story and puts all the emphasis on the gameplay, which has always been the weakest part of Borderlands for me. Not worth anyone's time.

If you were a developer of this DLC and you're on this site, I don't care if you had deadlines to meet, I hate you. We're enemies. Me and you, one and one, in the fucking ring.

I feel the need to review this specific DLC separately.

This is the most unnecessary, tedious, boring, repetitive, torturous, uneventful, mediocre and pointless excuse of a DLC I've played.

It only made me hate Borderlands 1 and Gearbox even more.
