monkey and birb PTSD intensifies

This one was disappointing, the story continuation is Great, but the new locations are basically NOTHING, the new dungeon is a bummer, didn't like this one...

Devs are so real for this... what a venture folks. By the end of it all if CrossWorlds doesnt have a censor feature, Lea can do a little trolling now (COD lobby renaissance)

wraps up all the loose ends from the base game and has flat out the best dungeon in the game, hands down.

More of the same great combat, story, and overworld that the vanilla game had.
I have two big complaints with this DLC, however.
1. The new dungeon was incredibly boring. It looked cool, but it exaggerated the only thing wrong with the vanilla game: way way way way way way way way way way way way way too many puzzles. It just felt like I was doing the same puzzle over and over again ad-nauseum, with minimal differences.
2. MAJOR SPOILERS!!!! The ending was awful and by no means closed out the story. The aforementioned dungeon ended with the promise of a whole new world to explore.
Awesome! Sounds cool! Oh, we are going back to the Evotar prison to wrap up a side character quest and finally kill an old villain? Sweet. Yeah, let's do that and then g...wait. Why are the credits rolling?
Lea's and all the Evotar's fates are still up in the air. Nothing about that is resolved. Sergey flat-out says that. Lea did not get an ending. Period.
It is as if, upon defeating Shinra in FF7, you got all hyped to fight Sephiroth and save the world from Meteor, only to get redirected to the waterfall where Lucrecia is frozen. Vincent's backstory is wrapped up. Fine, that's cool. Time to go fight Sephiroth, right? Nope. You fight the person responsible for freezing her and then the credits roll. Story done. The overall main questline is just swept under the rug, never to see the light of day again.
Sorry, but that ending was super disappointing and is the reason I've never replayed the DLC.

What is there to say?

CrossCode is an absolute masterclass of game design, and in just ~10 hours, its dlc manages to build upon so many aspects of the base game that I won't hold back in saying it may even surpass it. If you liked CrossCode, there is no possible argument I could conjure up that would make me confident in saying you won't like A New Home.

As I was fighting a certain incredibly difficult end-game boss, getting further and further each attempt, I found myself thinking but one thing:

"God I fucking love video games"

CrossCode got a beach episode and it's great.

Felt good revisiting the game to play through the new Content. This is one of my favorite game of all time and the DLC does not disappoint. The new area was a blast to go through.

I really liked the base game, but I felt this leaned on all the wrong parts of it while ignoring it's biggest strengths. It couldn't keep my attention all the way to the end.

The new beach zone opening this dlc was very pleasant to explore and had level design on par with the previous chapters (those jumping sections on the rocks are great), but the following dungeon is a much too linear set of puzzles and combat arenas that make much less use of those platforming and exploration mechanics. There's alzo very little focus on the supporting character given how much of the dlc happens in solo zones, making it pretty lonely to play through. On the upside, the central mechanic of the dungeon is very impressively implemented with the preexisting puzzle pieces and it's very fun to see all new interactions it brings.

Up until this point, I had cared very little for the progression systems of the game, and had basically ignored the equipment side quests entirely. The base game was nice enough to let me through to the end despite that, but the higher level requirement in these chapters caught up to me bad. I had to choose between lowering the difficulty way down, or catching up to a game's worth of unlearned mechanics, and none of those options seemed good. That one issues is obviously my own fault, but it did contribute a lot to me dropping the game. :/

hi! lea!

i wasn't sure whether to expect a self-contained story, post-ending fluff or additional main story lore when i got this dlc but got it balances the latter two pretty well

but augh i adored it so much. the new dungeon was AMAZING (its boss fight in particular holy hell), it added so much extra characterisation i loved (particularly on a certain character going through an Uncertain Period, i was very worried for them), the new quests were fun, the new gear is great and while i wish the completions and achievements were updated too that's not too big an issue

what i loved most though was the fluff and more of the warm feeling from the end of the base game. homestead was so sweet and the final part there was so adorable???

anyway i'm sad my crosscode journey is over for now but i'm just glad i had the journey to begin with

where lea?
why?
lea meet.

New dungeon is top tier, but not much was added in terms of story for me. I do enjoy the quick grinding options this DLC brought.

Incredibly satisfying dungeon and the boss at the end of it.

The story moments made me emotional too, worthwile DLC if you loved the game.

Very good DLC. It comes with an additional area (which is mostly there for grinding and Ascended gear tbh), a new dungeon filled with what makes CrossCode itself (which is both a good and a bad thing because that ALSO means the puzzles are back). The dungeon's bosses are also very fun to fight, specifically the final one which is very cool

The added story content is very nice too! However most of it is spoilers territory for the base game, so I won't say anything in case someone clicks here without having finished the game.

TL;DR: it's worth it! Just make sure you get the good ending in the base game

Seriously fuck this dlc dungeon with all its puzzles I wanted a balanced experience not a puzzle every 5 minutes
I was extremely excited at first but this dungeon just ruined the entire dlc for me

This gave me a valid reason to put more hours into this game while being a solid continuation of the story. What really surprised me about this was that I actually really enjoyed the dungeon of this dlc especially the boss of the dungeon Di'orbis that easily became my favourite boss in the entire game. Di'orbis was really difficult and pushed me to master the combat, even after all that I had to make sure I was well equipped. This dlc also helped to expand the character of C'tron more and what the future has in hold for Evotars. Overall the quality of this dlc was as consistent as the base game however I feel that this dlc was a bit too short.

perfect closing for an incredible game.

Complete playthrough, including all side quests. Well, we start from knowing that CrossCode is one of the greatest games of all time - and against that high bar, the A New Home succeeds wonderfully. Adding four new episodes to the base game's story, it's fantastic once again to be back in the company of Emilie, Lukas et al (alongside some characters who we might now have expected, all of whose characterisation is an absolute joy throughout. Adding an expansive new beach area and probably the game's largest dungeon - alongside expansions to other areas, a set of new, high-level quests, area-appropriate enemies and plenty more - there's an impressive amount of content here, all with the same meticulous level design that CrossCode particularly excelled at. I absolutely should not have waited as long as I did to play this, but time has done nothing to lessen the experience.

Encerramento condizente e uma última dungeon MUITO legal.

Não craftei todos os itens mas valorizo demais a adição de uma nova leva de itens que escalam com o level.

This review contains spoilers

to continue off my last point (spoilers here?) the last dungeon ends with a "DLC is coming!" advertisement but that was a fictional advertisement. crosscode is done. ok. and then like the bad guy is still at large

New temple is great and the additional story content is pretty good too. Wasn't too keen on the added area or the high level gear but I was probably just sick of grinding after playing for so long. Altogether a very fairly priced expansion.

ずっと待ってたDLC。いい世界でした。

Fantastic DLC, only bad part was the postgame superboss (but tbf I might just be bad)

Amazing way to wrap up an amazing game! The character development was awesome, the boss fights were great, overall an amazing DLC!

PLAY THIS GAME. IT'S TWENTY DOLLARS. THE DLC IS TEN. JESUS CHRIST. WHY HASN'T EVERYONE AND THEIR GRANDMA PLAYED THIS ALREADY????
