2ndRemix is a respectable upgrade from the first game. With a larger selection of music, added modifiers, and new dancers, it already feels like a more complete game. Granted, a lot of this content is still barred behind codes you have to memorize. In terms of the music, you get most of the 1st Mix with some fun entries that would become classic staples like "BRILLIANT 2U," "Put Your Faith in Me," "AM-3P," and "Get Up'n Move." This title also introduces several staples of the franchise like a roulette and all music option, the E failing grade, and unlockable songs. The added pleasure of disc changing to the Club Version Vol. 1 & 2 discs is good though they arguably should have been their own titles. Overall, 2ndRemix feels like a work-in-progress that will get immediately outshined by its next entry.

From this point forward, DDR sequels are mostly just 'how does the songlist fare?' and 'did they fix that one really dumb usability issue?'

Anyway, 2ndMix (or ReMix on consoles) is an immediate facelift from 1. Killer lineup of new tracks all-around - If You Were Here, Get Up 'N Move, I Believe in Miracles, Smoke, Brilliant2U Orchestra Groove, Put Your Faith In Me, Let Them Move (best singing ever), AM-3P, Paranoia KCET, Trip Machine Jungle and Luv mixes, - like damn, that's almost the whole new song list, and it's all 10/10 riffs, holy shit. They even got a song about gay strippers in here. Everything's a little bit harder but still respects the 1x scroll speed limitations - in some cases, playing around with it for some visibility-driven challenge.

It still has most of the same hangups from 1 - weird/bad unlock requirements, odd menu organization, and you still can't modify input timing. I still had a lot of fun revisiting it despite that tho, a short but extremely well-knit songlist.
