we are getting there....not yet at peak duck life but has tons of improvements.

Yall I'm so good at the climbing I'd play it just for that

It's like a Dynasty Warriors sequel in the sense that they touched things up a bit and added just enough content to warrant that big juicy "2" at the end of the title

Honestly, it almost feels a little disingenuous to call Duck Life 2 a sequel. It only makes a handful of changes from the first game, but fortunately most of them are for the better. The flight minigame is better now, and climbing has been added, which is like, the best minigame in the ducklife games lol.

Not everything here is an improvement, though, since now you have to upgrade your max training level every so often in the store. I get that this was put in place to remedy being able to overlevel really easy in the first game, but all it really does is punish you for doing well on a minigame close to the cutoff by not giving you all the XP you should be getting.

Still better than the first game, but still not what I'd call good. It's grindy and fairly boring. I don't know that I played much of 3 but I know 4 has a lot more than 3 minigames so I'm hoping this isn't a problem for that much longer.

This game having less than a 3.0 is the ultimate proof that Backloggd reviews are not to be trusted.

For the extra star I would give it for the improvements to the minigames, I have to take back one for the leveling system. idk I don't enjoy reaching the level cap in one or two playthroughs of a minigame and spending the coins I would've spent on energy seeds on raising the max level, or grinding a minigame to get more coins. With that said the minigames are massively improved! the running minigame still isn't that great but flying has more thought added into it with the obstacles, swimming is still pretty fun, and climbing, the new skill added, requires at least a little bit more thought put into it.

rising up in life and staying on the grind 🙏😎

Overall an improvement from the first game, due to a lot of little changes to stuff like the cosmetic upgrades, training, and feeding systems. But not necessarily a much better game, it's still essentially exactly the same. It's a lot more like a remake or reboot than a sequel. (5.5/10)
