Playing through Brake Point 1. Enjoying the driving in this as a big F1 fan

yeah i'm not really a diehard with this franchise so take this one with a grain of salt. i just played career mode and knocked my tires off in monaco over and over again

I'm not a long time racing game player, and this review is very much about a beginners experience with the story mode. It's more likely I'll review Project Cars for a proper racing sim experience.

It works! Honestly, it teaches you how to play the game while also being entertaining. There was a mission early on in the story where it just tasks you with overtaking 2 or 3 cars and it's freaking daunting. Weirdly, one you overcome that and learn how to do it (because it won't progress the story if you don't) the rest of the story mode becomes a bunch of pretty easy victories. I did enjoy the story too. Devon Butler is a detestable dude, but that's a good thing in a rival. If this game hadn't been delisted, I think it'd be the perfect starting point for the current influx of new F1 fans to jump onto.

I'm sure this game is good to those who enjoy the more realistic gameplay of this and also enjoy F1. Neither of those apply to me. Was funnier with friends though

I am going to give it a good rating because the Braking Point story was a great addition that for some reason was not continued in the next game after being a great refreshing idea.

Pretty good F1 game. The Breaking Point mode was an interesting addition.Graphics and controls were alright.

Braking point was enjoyable but I didn't enjoy its limitations. The physics were not so enjoyable compared to F12020

i've played 112 hours and still can't successfully get through the S's on silverstone

I only played brake point (story mode) and it was great, however mp experience wasn't quite good enough.

My favourite of the F1 games i have played, this game had a really nice vibe and the handling was really good. Not quite as good as F1 2020 but certainly not any worse, despite the lack of classic cars.

If you like F1 racing games, this is one.

I absolutely loved this game. The graphics were pretty good and the handling of the cars was perfect. The new additions of the story mode Braking Point and of the two player career mode were an amazing addition to the game, it's unfortunate the games went downhill from here.

I was F1 game'd out by this one.

haven't played much but pretty good so far

Log for Breaking Point story.

It's f1 2020 copied and pasted, but without the classic cars, and with a new campaing that really doesn't add much.

codemasters really thinks open wheel cars drive on ice at all times

F1 2021 is an F1 game. It’s fun. It handles well, and sounds okay. My Team’s pretty good and kept me engaged for a very long time, car development is surprisingly fun. Braking Point? I beat that thing Day 1. It didn’t offer that much, and there wasn’t any kind of reward for doing something like winning from P18 on the grid.

I hope this marks the start of a better game now that EA's bought Codemasters. But the fundamentals are down well, meaning driving 50% races doesn’t get as boring as you’d think, especially if you have fun with strategy. Sometimes when I have time to kill I'll just hop on, do a last to first for fun.
