It's not a bad game but it's not up to par.
The open world is beautiful and exploring it is very entertaining.
The soundtrack is CRAZY.
But the gameplay consists of button mashing and the story is incomplete without the dlcs.

The game has lot's of flaws, but i had a good time with it.

Não gosto das adições, mas A jornada e o final valem tudo

poorly optimized on pc and combat felt extremely bland

First final fantasy i played,so many mistakes but introduces me to this fantastic series.

o jogo é ÓTIMO na sua main quest, mas assim que tu saí da rota principal parece que é tudo feito entre as coxas

Just vibes and very chill ones. Unfortunately the ending made me exceptionally depressed. Also the gameplay is a little tiny bit subpar but a very beautiful game indeed.

I've finished most FF games and FF15 has probably the best character development. The story is great and mostly thanks to the characters, it has a touch of realism. FF15 does start slow, on the first drive somewhere before you unlock fast travel, you have to sit through 2-7 min drives, but just play some Spotify on your console and listen to these guys interacting and it feels like a roadtrip should.

Just like in FF12, sidequests are just hunts with no story which make them uninteresting but I still found myself doing as many as I could. Fishing and cooking mini games are fun and the photography mechanic is brilliant, making it heartfelt and it serves a purpose later on.

Some players don't like the oversimplified combat and that it plays itself, but tbh FF12 while more strategic and less action, once gambits were set you didn't have to press any buttons. FF15 requires way more intervention.

My recommendation: give it a chance after the first few hours.. the story and characters are great and you'll rank FF15 above many of other mainline FF games, like I do. Trust me: when you finish it, you'll miss these guys.

Kinda pathetic that it made me feel less lonely ik but it's kinda special

Make the prompto DLC 30 hours you cowards

I know a game story worked on me when the last part of it moves me a lot. I liked this group of friends and their roadtrip. The focus on their journey shadowed Lunafreya, ok, but it made everything more powerful because you do feel for Noctis. The DLC should have been in game instead but Prompto or Ignis story worked on me a lot.
Music wise, Yoko Shinomura did a perfect job.
The open world is pretty but there is nothing to do there unfortunately. It's the big flow of this game. No minigames just hunts.
But i loved it and it's not the bad game I heard about. And to know it ended Hajime Tabata's career while he took over Tetsuya Nomura's chaotic development is so unfair imo.

I knew this game had a fairly mixed reputation going in, but I had heard enough good surrounding it to justify giving it a whirl. What I found was a game that, despite being rough around the edges in plenty of areas, has a lot of heart and soul baked into it. I played the Royal edition which featured DLCs that weren't a part of the base game, and frankly I can imagine the experience feeling incomplete without them. On top of that I know there are multiple pieces of supplemental content such as a movie and a short anime series that provide some insight on the plot which likely make the experience far more coherent than having just played through the story.

The game really shines in the way it portrays the bonds between the four leads and their adventure to fulfill what is ultimately Noctis' destiny. As you play through the game you start to realize these are more than just friends, they're brothers that will do anything for one another no matter how rough things get along the way. The story could've certainly been told better if the aforementioned additional content was all found within the game itself, but what the main plot lacks in substance is made up for in the interactions between the main cast as you drive across landscapes and work through hunts or assisting the locals with whatever tasks they need help with. The DLC episodes also help to strengthen your connection to the characters even more by giving you a deeper look into how each of them feels and what their motivations look like in relation to the others and themselves.

As for some negatives however, there are two big ones that come to mind: Combat and Side Content. In terms of combat, despite a seemingly in-depth skill tree and the ability to swap to the characters not named Noctis (which apparently wasn't in the base game), many of the enemies you face often feel far healthier than they should and many don't experience the level of hitstun you would expect from other games in the action genre. Gear is a bit underwhelming as it's usually just stat-related and doesn't change how you play (barring the absurdly broken Ragnarok DLC weapon that for some reason is given to you immediately), and it leads to combat feeling overall just decent and nothing more.

My issues with side content largely come from the nature of the quests themselves as well as the sheer amount of it thrown at you consistently throughout the game. It's sort of a Catch-22 scenario where not only does a lot of the side content feel like busy work with a somewhat inconsistent fast-travel system being your main mode of transportation, but doing TOO MUCH of the plethora of side content you're offered will frequently cause you to feel overlevelled for the story content. Also, many of the game's most wholesome and fun interactions between the boys come from said side content so you're basically forced to artificially limit your experience at times if the experience boost is something you'd like to avoid. There are ways to circumvent this (such as an accessory that prevents use of EXP, or avoiding using mutlipliers for said EXP as much as possible) but I feel as if this could've been avoided by changing the way side content was handled.

I could probably go on further with both positives and negatives here, but I'll cut it short and just say that even with its issues I would recommend at least giving it a shot at some point if you're even remotely interested. As someone who has recently started gaining more of an interest in Final Fantasy as a franchise I'm glad I experienced it and see just what made it the talking point it is today.

I should've quit this game when I saw the first thing that the game shows you was: "A Final Fantasy For Fans And New Players"

This should've either stick to being a side game as the original plan or they should've put this into the online-only mmo FFXIV as an expansion.
The game is already an mmo-minded offline game anyways with all of its unnecessary collabs and having all the other Square games' music to listen to in the car's radio...

There's literally nothing positive this game has gameplay-wise:
Battle-system is trash: You either hold the attack button or the block/dodge button and that's it,
There's basically no magic in this game: Just fire-blizzard-thunder (Hello?? Isn't this a FF game where are all the magic),
Camera is literally the worst game-cam by far and nothing comes even close,
World-exploring and traveling is trash (they don't actually let you drive the fucking car wtf)

And apparently to understand this story you have to do bunch of stuff like: playing a side-scroller game, watching a Youtube series, playing a demo, watching a movie, playing 4 different dlcs (btw the last of these 4 story dlcs is missing in this all-in-one package/version of the game which is hilarious) and you have to do these in between specific chapters!? (which there's no way you can know this without looking it up online). I didn't do any, fuck that, the main game already killed all the joy I haven't had in me.
This is basically whole fucking Kingdom Hearts "every single entry across all of those different platforms are still canon bro" shenanigans but just for one game (They didn't even pull this kinda bs with their biggest milk cow aka FFVII).

So far, this game is battling FF 13 as my favorite Final Fantasy game ever. I'm currently on chapter 3, taking my time to enjoy every second of it. There's still stuff I don't like of this game, but the good parts overcompensate the bad ones a ton.

cried. i wish the pacing was better and the side quests were actually good but i miss my boys

I did not like any of these characters

Easily the best version of this game, while it doesn't fix the fundamental issues, it adds a decent amount of content that fixes the pacing a little bit.

I don't really know how to start this review... I don't even know what rating I'm going to give to this game, because Final Fantasy XV is such a complicated experience.
As a videogame, it's a mess, while the Open World looks gorgeous, and I enjoyed exploring and doing random activities, there's not enough quality content in it, driving the car feels slow and clunky, the gameplay is very simple and doesn't have any deep mechanics, and the side quests are generic, but the very charming cast of characters kept me intrigued.

The story starts nice but gets uninteresting after the first hour, it feels like the story is absent for a big part of the game but fortunately it picks up later on, and that's a shame because it's a great story, just very poorly written and structured.

The soundtrack is phenomenal as expected, it really compliments the game and its key moments. From the beautiful overworld themes to the epic and intense battle themes, it has everything.

Even with all the issues and the questionable pacing of the story, the final chapter really saves this game, it's in my opinion my favorite chapter in the game by far, it has some genuinely challenging boss fights, all the characters get some time to shine, and the ending is pretty much one of my favorite endings ever.

Overall Final Fantasy XV is a very flawed videogame but surprisingly enough an exceptional one as well. I really like this game, It's a very interesting and rewarding experience despite the obvious flaws.

Final Rating: "Very Good" ~ 7.5/10.

nowhere near a perfect game, but i think it gets too much hate

Loved this game more than I thought I would. What it sometimes lacks in mechanics or story, it makes up for with the overall vibe. I found the open world fun, and it goes without saying that the boys can’t be beat. And the music is obviously phenomenal (shoutout to Yoko 🫶🏻)

My main reasons for not giving 5 stars:
- The day/night cycle was more annoying than anything
- The boys’ skills didn’t contribute to anything really. Seemed like it was added just for… fluff I guess? (survival skill especially wack. Also, unnecessary to have fishing imo)
- not always having fast travel options on the regalia was taxing, especially when trying to clean up side quests

i so wish the story didnt suck ass bc it has some of my favorite characters from any media ever in it

Even ignoring the swathe of additional media, the game alone is pulling in so many directions. There is a lot going on yet all I wanted to do was get it over with because I can't be asked to care. Whether speaking on the story or the gameplay, it is so unfocused. It makes me wonder why any of activities I ignored exist because they probably took time away from making a more cohesive experience. I have that sad feeling I get with some games because a what-if version exists in my head. A sign that it, for what it's worth, did grab me.

After watching the animated episodes, finishing the main story and all the DLCs, I will try to be entirely honest with you.
As many people have said before, the base game in Final Fantasy XV is indeed very incoherent; the story, while very good, it doesn't make sense for the most part, it feels like you're doing random quests and it's hard to understand what's the main plot because it lacks explanation and introduction of certain things and events. Fortunately, the DLCs in Royal Edition made the story make a bit more sense and gave the characters more depth.
The characters, however, while not deep in the base game, are incredibly likeable; they're awesome, the highlight of the game for sure.
The gameplay is mediocre; it lacks depth and the camera is very bad, but at least it feels satisfying and it looks cool. Also, the ability to switch characters made it feel diverse.
The music is fantastic, the CGI cutscenes are impressive and the graphics are just beautiful. Final Fantasy XV came out 4 years ago and it looks better than many contemporary Open World games.
Unfortunately though, Final Fantasy XV is a deeply flawed game.
The first half of the game is not engaging enough, while the second half of the game is very linear; it's badly paced and it feels inconsistent.
The gameplay, while not necessarily bad, it gets mindless a lot of times.
Lastly, the open world is just... empty and dull, no reason to explore aside from Regalia customization.

Pros:
+ Great story
+ Likable & engaging characters
+ Serviceable gameplay
+ Amazing music and visuals
+ DLCs

Cons:
- Messy storytelling
- Awkward camera
- Major pacing issues
- Balancing issues
- Boring open world

Narrative: 7/10
Gameplay: 5/10
Content: 8/10
Characters: 9/10
Music: 9/10
Graphics/Audio: 9/10

Final Rating: 6.5/10
- Pretty Good -
Final Fantasy XV is one of the most controversial games in the series, and rightfully so; it's simply unfinished. However, some parts of it are impressive and even impactful, making it a very interesting experience overall.

Do I recommend it?:
At low price, maybe.
