Turning, acceleration, brakes, and three gears; Sega and Yu Suzuki's romanticization of simplicity takes center stage in this cute little launch title package. It doesn't have anything aesthetically luring to hook you ala Super's diverse sky-chasing environs and progressive music, but you could easily argue the gear-toggling controls beat it out on playability. A rare master system W.
The Arcade game looks incredible for 1985 and highlights the fact that the arcade machines were light years ahead of the home consoles/ computers at the time. The smooth framerate adds to the high playability and the bike generally controls very well on a pad.
The narrow tracks, the massive driver hitbox, and far too many AI drivers running amok makes it a brutally unforgiving game designed to fuck you up and take all your quarters. Yet you keep on playing as its too addictive lol. That's a good game in my opinion.

[Master System]
A much more successful arcade conversion than its contemporary, Master System OUT RUN, mostly because it’s aiming lower.
Control is tight, graphics are simple and clean, and the sound is excellent in an equally understated way. There’s no music during the main gameplay, but that makes more room for the very good and hypnotic sound effects which add tension and realism to the driving.
Unfortunately, the amount of content is as spare as the presentation, and that makes playing it get old quickly. There’s just not enough to see. But if you’re like me, you might find yourself repeating the same levels more than you would have guessed, just because it feels good to play.
