lacking story and repetitive gameplay especially for a rougelite (only 2 objective types), characters dont play that different.

Interesting mountain climbing rogue-like with some good replayability if you decide to stick through a brand new game with every single side mission and progression reset.

Really cool concept and music clips hard in a good way. Though the repetitiveness, lack of polish in dialogue and some systems, as well as the unfulfilling story bring it down some.

Overall, still worth playing in shorter bursts to not burn out and lowering expectations due to the smaller team.

Enjoyable, slow-paced game. A bit contemplative, I think. That said, I think there's a lot of parts that don't feel up to snuff, like the story or the overall variation between runs. It ends up feeling samey but I think it's fun for a while.

i mean, it's a roguelike, but i was kind of into the unique theming of climbing a mountain until 1) boring sci-fi premise got slapped on and 2) i was given an incomprensible list of upgradable skills and equipment sets and unlockable characters. c'mon now.

Fun, different, repetitive take on the roguelike genre

The start is awesome and i loved it, but after two hours it becames boring and repetitive, and the events and dialogues are really lame and it doesnt keeps you entertained

Ok so the game is clearly lacking in places, but it does a few things really well.
The mountains feel large and imposing, like an enemy to be conquered.
And the journey to the top feels daunting at first, arduous in the middle, and worthwhile by the end.
There's something special there.

Интересная игра, есть разнообразие в выборах, поиграл час, игра меня особо не завлекла

So this game is interesting. The hexagonal nature of "board" if you'd call it that makes for an interesting gameplay loop that has you strategizing the best way to climb up the mountain. It feels more like a puzzle to be optimised each run than a movement mechanic and it gets praise for that.

The systems at play: Warmth, Hunger, Sanity and Oxygen make for a good balancing act when you're trying to survive and make the game hard enough on longer climbs that they have to be worked around, but not so annoying that it impedes gameplay a lot.

The game is also pretty to look at and does give you a good sense of scale. Most of the time, if you see something within the game world, you can travel to it which is nice.

Having said all of that, the charm of the game wears off quickly. The random events aren't plentiful and as a result you'll see the same set of them even on the same mountain sometimes.

Random events don't appear to have any notable randomness in response to your actions. I.E if a dialogue option worked the first time, its going to work every time after that.

This hugely detracts from the experience as it always feels like you can "win" enough encounters to not really be in any danger at all.

There is a story but I just couldn't be bothered with it and can't really comment on it's quality other than it was there.

I can't help but feel like this game would of been better as a high score type with survival mechanics rather than the psuedo-story game it is with randomly generated levels.

For free, its worth a play. You should only pay for it if you are a serious enthusiast.

What a great podcast game to chill out to. Heh. A surprisingly challenging and free form adventure, which thematically with mechanics knocks it out of the park. It feels overall like it lacks and ounce of polish, but that's ok. Climbing mountains is fun, tense, and repayable!
