What if this game was called "Killer is Freaky" and, instead of killing demons, you have sex with random women, wait a minute...

me when the killer is dead (the killer is dead)

if mondo zappa was a 4chan chud: the job, killer has fallen

The style is bangin', the gameplay and extra content, not so much

So far the only Suda51 game I've played myself. The style was quite nice but some things haven't aged too well. Those gigolo missions, for example, were really problematic and the game can get very monotonous. Music was a blast and some scenes were really cool but I don't think you need to have played it^^

Bought this for like 2 quid around christmas and it got me into hack n slash games again, have yet to play No More Heroes though.

Suda fans will play an actually fun game that isn't esoteric, boring, or full or dogshit and say "wow this sucks ass!"

pretty fun action game but i feel like it easily could've done more, i recommend it for anyone who's a fan of suda51.

This is a weird one
It feels like there's a really great game hidden somewhere here, but the final package kinda just feels confused more then anything
Gameplay was fine, but the story just aimless, and not really in a good way
Has a cool style at least

Ladies and gentlemen, Suda 51 has made the most bad ass anime game ever and it was 7+ years ago. I took a trip back to my PS3 and hack and slashed my way into some tiddies.
Essentially you're a hired assassin who takes out targets that are reaking havoc on the world at large. From trains to alice in wonderland to a bunch of extra ass enemies spread across 12 story missions. The game is quite short but as all hack n slashes go, you will be replaying the whole game at least 3 more times for the platinum.
The story is simple at first glance but it is genuinely bonkers as shit. It's some extra level wild with what it's going for and I adore it. It's awesome seeing Japanese devs just do what they want to do and not live by the regular standards of modern AA and AAA games.
It's just a laughable riot as the main character Mondo delivers the most fantastical one liners as he slashes a fucking creature in half.
Suda and the team clearly had fun in making this story and I applaud them for that.
Gameplay itself is really fun which is good for a hack n slash. You dodge and parry, combo your way to delivering a powerful one hit kill move and it just feels so damn good. It's visually stunning as you slash one enemy, combo into the next and one hit kill the third all while looking like a bad ass.
My only complaint with the gameplay is the lack of a jump button. Ariel combos would have been awesome in this game and they could have done a lot to make it work but Mondo is a very grounded character. Instead of using ariel combos, flying enemies are taken out via his machine gun arm (yup) which makes for a decent shooting experience.
Aside from combat, the most controversial gameplay element is the missions where you are on a date with one of 4 ladies (DLC adds a 4th) and you basically stare at their tiddies until a meter fills up and then you give them a gift. After finishing the mission 3 times, you essentislly watch Mondo rail all these girls.
To be honest, I hate that this was controversial. It's a fictional game but of course people bring politics and real world logic to it.
It's just hilarious if anything. I can't even view it sexual because him staring at a womens legs and tiddies to increase his guts is hilarious to me rather than horny.
Overall this game is a riot, it was clearly made with passion and a genuine sense of humour.
I do wish their was ariel combos but ultimately, this game was just fun as fuck.

Killer Is Dead:Mondo's awakening

Didn't think I'd enjoy this game so much, hoenstly I found the gameplay really appealing (nearly on a dmc level even if thee combos aren't that deep) and the artstyle rocks like it did in killer7.
Oh yeah of course the story is fucked up and nothing is clear but it's suda we're talkin about.

Im not exactly sure what he was going for on this one but it was pretty cool i guess

Style over substance: the game. The story was surprisingly moderate, the combat was tight and fun, the art style was super striking, and it's as absurd as a Suda game can get.

So Kodai Sumio, Sumio Mondo and Mondo Zappa... The next one is Zappa Kodai I guess

i do not believe anyone who worked on this game has ever spoken to a woman

Fun game with a lot of flaws to it. Core combat is pretty simple but effective and enjoyable kinda feels like weird in between of nmh 1 and 3 to me in some ways but the parts where this game annoyed me really stopped me from loving this game most bosses are terribly designed like the dream fight with the red hooded lady being gimmicky or the kaiju fight going on too long. the story isn't terrible but I wish had more development to it, especially with that weird sequel bait thing at the end. music is fantastic tho very happy a friend recommended to play the ps3 version so I can hear the licensed music especially the credits theme that went hard

overall solid enough time i think anyone who likes hack n slashers and suda games should try this one

(didn't mention gigalo mission because they arent worth going into any detail about)

A video game equivalent of blue balls, and I'm not just referring to the Gigolo missions. There are plenty of interesting ideas sprinkled about, but KiD never quite goes all the way with them. I still think it's worth checking out if you're a mark for hacking and slashing or have any interest in the kind of games that come out of Grasshopper.
