Mario Golf for Game Boy Color is a delightful sports game that successfully shrinks down its Nintendo 64 counterpart while incorporating fun RPG elements. The charming visuals and accessible controls make it easy to learn and fun to play on the go. You can level up your golfer, explore courses, and compete in thrilling matches. While the story mode could be longer, Mario Golf still delivers a solid handheld golfing experience.

I love the story mode and the RPG elements
It could have more than 5 courses, but it's an GBC game

It's alright overall. I wish I could had this as an actual GBC cartridged (yes, I played it on NSO for the first time) to experience it as it actually deserved but it's still a cool game with exclusive stuff from the N64 counter-part: just like Tennis on GBC, it has its own RPG, thankfully way more direct than the other: no tedious long intros.

It does remind me of NES Open Tournament being on a less powerful console than the N64, and it makes perfect sense.

Mario Golf as a compelling RPG, with one of my top 10 favorite soundtracks of all time...this was a game I kept coming back to as a child, and I still find myself humming the songs today. It was my first exposure to the genius of Sakuraba, but thankfully not my last.

I got the game for virtual console cause my brother said that he liked it as a kid when he played it on the Game Boy Color. It is cool to play and I enjoy just picking it up and trying to play just casually.

I would only say that hitting the buttons never works for me and I am always 1 notch away from a perfect swing. Then I only play as Mario in free stroke mode cause it is more fun.

Me encantan los juegos de golf, me encantan los rpg, esto es ambos así que por supuesto me flipa

Kind of surprised at how it "just works", like, I'm worried by the relative lack of information its bigger N64 brother had but it seems to play fine without it. Charming spritework and music, honestly fairly high up on my list of "essential" GB(C) games.

I?? Love this game?? The sprites are lovely, the soundtrack is pleasant, the act of Game Boy Golfing is addicting and rewarding, the RPG aspects keep me happily coming back for another round, and, epic gamer masters just might find some schweet, exclusive endgame content, if you beat all the tournaments and duels.

the gbc version is vastly superior to the console version. iykyk.

Okay I actually like this one a little bit

I used to play this on GBC all the damn time, they just added it to Switch, so I'm reliving the memories.

Golf Story led me to believe it was a RPG with only occasional golf, when it was in fact a golf game that was only occasionally an RPG. This is a golf game with RPG elements, so right there I already like this game more for choosing not to piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining. Not to mention, this game has the Mario brothers, and everyone likes the Mario brothers! What was the extra thing golf story had? Disc golfers. No one likes disc golfers

cant believe i played an rpg golf game at 7 years of age

Mario Golf on the Game Boy Color is such an absurdly good golf game for the time. Create your character, then go explore the country club and start golfing!

fucked up bad playing this after camelot's gbc golf swan song, mobile golf. what a fucking stupid sentence, jesus christ.

It's like Golf but wthout the 3D and more like the NES one.

I find it kinda funny the covers are the same except here Mario is all alone. His friends are gone but he's still swinging!
