Having previously played the PS4 release of the previous Spider-Man game and having seen clips of the movement on various platforms, I came into this with high expectations and was definitely not disappointed! Miles Morales gives a very interesting insight into the backstory and further characters only barely introduced in the previous entry. The entire story, while captivating, left some things to wish for, especially in length and content outside of the main story, but mostly made up for it in its interesting premise, the amazingly fluid combat and movement mechanics, and within the tight story beats.

Amazing game, short but sweet while still improving a lot from the first game. It has better gameplay, graphics, and a compelling story. Must play for any Spider-Man fan

the combat in this game is fantastic, it builds on the first game's very well because of miles' camouflage and venom attacks, however the story is far to short it you purely focus on the story doing nothing else you can easily beat it in 3 - 5 hours, the length of the game does partially make this game feel like a decently sized DLC and not a full story, it is definitely to short considering the asking price of £70, the story is good for what is there however i wish they let the game explore characters better and let it go at a good pace. while the length and price are the only gripes i really have with the game i cannot help but feel it cheapened the experience for me leaving me to give it a score that feels low considering how fun the game is but i cannot overlook the issues.

not as good spider-man story as the other spider-man story but still a pretty good spider-man story.

Jogo excelente.

Porém senti ele muito repetitivo e não senti vontade de platinar ou joga-lo novamente como o Spider-Man (2018)

I absolutely loved this game. The graphics are phenomenal and I wish there was more!

a good spiderman game rather short though

What Miles Morales brings to the table is a smaller in scale but more stylized take on the phenomenal 2018 Spiderman game. Miles' story has all the elements of a great spiderman plot. A personal story with *City ending stakes where Miles has to walk a fine line between stepping into the sticky shoes of Spiderman, while also trying to remain true to himself and loyal to his friends. Even if that childhood friend turns out to be a supervillain.

I love the features that MM has added to Spiderman 2018. (And for removing the annoying Peter Parker puzzles)

Not only making air tricks easier and more fluid to pull off but also rewarding you with movement power ups for doing so. Either a speed boosts or extra jumps. It took an already highly addictive web swinging mechanic and made it even more satisfying. I've played these games to death at this point, recently coming back to get the Platinum for Miles Morales. And yet any time I have a long day at work or need to get out of my head for a bit, this game is always there when I need to go for a swing.

I cried through the entire ending because the game wouldn’t let me stop. My 4yo daughter now loves Spider-Man.

Insomniac Games is one of the best dev studios in the business, and their first Spider-Man game remains the best piece of Spider-Man media out there (sorry Spiderverse). Their take on Miles is my favorite yet and a must-play for webheads.

A worthy successor. Be Yourself.

While being shorter than the first game, it tops it in every way except story. While the story is still good, it's too similar of a concept to the previous game to be completely its own.

The gameplay and visuals are better than the first in almost every way. Regarding the visuals specifically, it has probably the best looking sequence I've seen in a video game at the end of the story.

Amazing game. Short, sweet, buggy, but so fun.

It continued the amazing journey from Spider-man 1, and enhanced the swinging mechanics.

[I played this game and reviewed it in 2020]
I'm choosing to review this game and the Spider-Man (2018) game together because they are essentially the same game with extremely minor differences. This game was, in all sense of the word, fun. Swinging and fighting are extreemly satisfying and never really got stale during my playthrough. I opted out of completing most of the side quests since they were all very basic collectathons or uninteresting missions. The soundtrack was very good and always made it feel like you were in a movie. Swinging around is very fun and I always found myself trying to move as quick as possible which was fun. Basic combat mechanics were very satisfying, but I didn't really feel the need to use any of the skill upgrades or additional tools since to me they felt pretty unnecessary. I really liked the story in both of these games as well, both having a bit of a dark undertone.

Below are my reviews of both games in this bundle, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered Review

My bit of history with Spider-Man is pretty much none, I remember the cartoon back in the day, I remember him in the Marvel vs Capcom games, I remember him in rise of Imperfects, and I've seen some of the movies, but I've never been a fan of Spider-Man as a character, always found him too silly, but to be fair super hero movies and games were never my thing.

This game...it changed all of my opinions of Spider-Man. This was the most amazed and fully invested I've been in a game in quite a while.

As usually I'll start with the graphics. This being a remaster on PS5 it looks incredible and runs with no problem at all. Swinging through Manhattan and fighting enemies along with explosions and everything, nothing slowed the game down and the graphics honestly looked pretty movie like at times. When you look at the map after having played open world games, it seems kinda small, but as you swing through it, it feels alive and like everything doesn't just involve around you doing something, the game just goes on and it's great for it.

The gameplay as I said before is very smooth, there's nothing like swinging around the city, or taking on a bunch of enemies as you level up and discover new suits and gadgets to use to make combat flow at your own pace and be as fun or difficult as you want it to be. There's plenty of side quests on the map to do or not do, plenty of just side stuff that you don't have to interact with, honestly the world feels like your playground after the first hour of cutscenes and tutorials mixed.

The story I believe is where the game is at it's very best! I won't spoil a single thing here, but I love all the side characters, the villains, and the most shocking part of all Spider-Man himself, as a hero and person. This game has made me a fan of Spider-Man and opened my eyes to him being a better character than I thought and I was shocked how moved I was at so many moments of this game.

I wish I could say more about the game, but I feel I can't without spoiling anything, but this game was fantastic and it's only weaknesses if any are extremely small...for one the game's music is VERY cinematic which isn't my taste so it doesn't stand out, and the second issue isn't really an issue, but more so the Miles Morales expansion/DLC/sequel(?) does upstage this game in certain parts, but doesn't replace it because in return this game does beat it out as well.

Otherwise, an amazing game to match the AMAZING Spider-Man.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Review

If you've read my review of Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered then you'd know I originally wasn't a fan of Spider-Man as a character growing up all the way until playing that game, so I can only imagine how I would have felt knowing they would have another Spider-Man who isn't Peter Parker. I can't seem to remember how I felt about this game back when it was announced...I'm guessing indifferent since I had no intention on playing the original game. So on to Miles Morales!

I can't really add too much about this game that I hadn't said about Spider-Man Remastered. They use the same engine, combat is about the same, the world is about the same, Miles Morales plays as a sort of DLC/expansion to the first game, so the formula is about the same, but the parts that are different are the story, music and Miles' combat.

I'll go into combat first, when I did the review of Spider-Man Remastered, I had said that Miles Morales did do combat better, not that the formula for combat change, but while Pete was more of an acrobat and quick, Miles comes off as a bit more of a brawler and uses a bit more unique abilities to spice up combat in ways that kinda makes Spider-Man Remastered feel a little shallow. Miles' definitely gets the edge of being great to use in combat and during stealth sections of the game.

The story of the game at first feels like a truncated version of Spider-Man Remastered as in you'll see kinda familiar beats and things unfold in ways that feel kinda deja vu, but as time passes you'll see the two games have a very strong story but they hit intensity at different sections of their game, and Miles' Morales is just as fun and emotional driven, but I do feel like since Spider-Man Remastered is a longer game by far, it does allow growth of multiple characters, while Miles Morales focuses on a select few, but does it very well.

Lastly the music...this section won't be long, but it has a more hip-hop sound to the music as you play mixed in with a bit of Electronic/House music, so it stands out much more and I think fits better on those long swings from place to place.

So now the weakness...honestly like Spider-Man Remastered it has very few, the one that comes to mind is the game is a bit short, even if you get everything you're looking at between 10 to 15 hours at best, which I can't really say is bad since I played Spider-Man Remastered directly before this, but to other people that may be short and because of the shorter length, the story is tightly focused on it's select characters so there's that.

Otherwise this game is just as AMAZING and I feel flow together and shouldn't really be judged apart since they pretty much tell one story combined. Fantastic game.

Not bad, but definitely isn't as great as the first game. The combat was good and swinging around New York is a blast, but the story is very formulaic and I was having more fun doing side missions than the main story.

Alur ceritanya keren banget, mekanisme gameplaynya bagus. This is the best game i ever played

Honestly, took me two years to beat because I was bored as hell playing it. More fun than the original, sure, but the story was weaker.

An absolute improvement and a great solo side game of Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man universe. The gameplay was overall the same as the first game but with some much needed improvements that made the gameplay better. And the new abilities that Miles has like invisibility and Venom Power make the game so much fun to play

I have been patiently waiting to ... swing back into Insomniac's excellent web slinging Marvel's Spider-Man - but this time on the PS5. Finally.

Coming right to this from Spider-Man may not be the best choice, but the game still stood strong. Much needed gameplay an open-world improvements as well as a cast enjoyable as the first.
