an excellent conclusion to the metal gear series. almost every system and feature from the earlier games is polished to perfection here, the stealth gameplay is incredible, and ive never had so much fun managing mother base. the optional online FOB missions are a great addition too. i know part of the story had to be rushed and a lot of it ended up being cut, which definitely made some parts feel awkwardly paced, but i still thought it was a lot of fun. the ending is great especially, and there's a main mission after the story ends that i liked a lot too. i also really enjoyed the dramatic cinematography during cutscenes, with every cutscene being similar to a handheld shot which makes this game's visuals stand out a lot.

sandbox cum, even if the story is not all that

1.5 stars deducted from this perfect game for being drastically undercooked.

most of this game was yapping but tbh im all for it. quiet is my girlie <3

divertente divertente divertente. C'ho giocato un sacco.

The best gameplay of any MGS game, but sadly, also the worst story... and that's a huge draw of the series. Thanks a lot Konami. Just let Kojima cook!

Boss get down! That's an enemy gunship. A single burst from its machine gun can cut a man in half. Stay low and crawl along the ground. That should enable you to sneak past enemies.

SOOOOOOOO unfinished, but also the most fun stealth game ever??!?!??

The unfortunate thing about MGS5 is that it should theoretically be the best MGS game by a country mile. A ton of content, much more robust stealth, and the cleanest controls the series has ever seen.
Despite all this, it has a laughable story (being called the Phantom Plot for a reason), much of that extra content being lackluster or just plain bad, and a progression system tied to grinding and waiting REAL ASS TIME to get better gear.
It might seem ludicrous to rate MGS5 on the same level as the first game, and on some level I know that it's likely better, but I choose not to think about it as "MGS5 is ONLY on the level of MGS1" but instead as "MGS1 knocked it out of the park so early that it's as good as the latest game in the series". Especially since an 8 is still a pretty good score.

ASOPLATA DESPUES DE REGRESARLE EL DINERO A GOR

Joguei muito mas nunca zerei, triste

This could have been an easy 10/10. It's a near perfect game and I could consider this to be the best in the series along with Snake Eater. It took what was great about the stealth gameplay from the first four games and took it to the next level with the open world for you to explore and much more possibilities for stealth. This could have been the ultimate game, had it not been Konami's decision to let go of Hideo Kojima. Because of that, Chapter 2 of the game was just dogshit and recycled older missions and only left room for 3 original missions. On top of that, Chapter 3 wasn't even finished and they just scrapped it out completely, making the conclusion of the game's story too sudden and unsatisfying, leaving too many loose ends and unexplained plot-holes (unless you watch the bonus content).

Other than that, the game absolutely fucks. Hopefully the full experience of this game will come full circle once volume 2 of the Master Collection comes out. But knowing Konami, that's probably not gonna happen. I just hope they don't fuck up the Snake Eater remake.

sad that Kojima never got to finish the story

The best metal gear solid in my humble opinion, can't give five stars because the game is clearly incomplete but it's still an amazing experience.

fuck konami.

I would love to get back on this game, I love those weird Hideo Kojima moments in his games, I just had a lot of other games on my plate at the time.

The government doesn't want you to know there's free puppies in the desert, you can just extract them.

Less stealth and more open ended, there's plenty of stuff to develop and experiment with, except they added real timers for said stuff because this is a mobile game apparently. I did do the total stealth airport mission in a box though so who needs any of the cool weapons and tools.

Who invented chapter 2 in this game? Do the same missions for no reason, we just wanted to pad the game out. You want Quiet back? Just do the same mission 7 times in a row, because that's fun.

Story is loosely connected through missions, with only certain ones leading to cutscenes and plot development. It picks up once you get to Africa though.

Look, there's a lot of "KOJIMA, NO" moments.

But there's also "Shining Lights, Even in Death," so.

This is one of the best games for replay-ability! If you enjoy being sneaky and quiet then this is game for you.
