whatever. another EA game. at least i could make myself and completely wipe out the competition.

NHL 23 is decent. There are a lot of modes, although almost everything here is a rehash from a previous entry and still needs some work.

Skating isn't bad, but it does feel stiffer than in years past. Goalies are overpowered, even on the lower difficulties.

I hate this game so much. It's a buggy mess and the AI is poo poo. Gm mode and be a pro mode are so barren and it's been the same gameplay just touched up since NHL 10.

Can't wait for NHL 24 to be on game pass so I can put another absurd amount of time into this franchise.

My gm mode team the Erie Halloweeners will go down in history as one of the all time great NHL franchises.

Well.. for people not familiar with Ice Hockey (beside the old games played for fun) this game is not really accessible. There is a huge lack of a training camp or any other form of structured learning. I wish the game would teach me the meaning of the controls not only show me which button press does what. Due to this game structure, the learning curve is only guided by the in-the moment pop-up tips. That’s not quite helpful considering how quick the game is.

I’m sure the is much in it for fans and veterans but if you want to check out the game be aware that it isn’t holding your hand at all. What a shame considering that other EA Sports games already have cracked the code in this regard.

Just glad to have a good Sabres team again.

feels pretty good? can't say I care about much else

This was my first taste of the "next gen" version of the NHL series and I must say, it was a step up from the last gen version in my opinion.

Genuinely a good sports game, but its very technical at times. It's not casual and has a big learning curve. Do not expect to score easily like you do in FIFA. In NHL 23, you need actual skill, timing and knowledge of the sport.

Could use more new features. It runs like ass on my PS4 but we are 3 years into the next generation so fair enough I guess.

New franchise options are why I bought it. Being able to create like 16 custom teams and make a 46 team league fulfills every desire that my inner child ever had. IDC about gameplay I barely touch the actual game but I hear they changed some stuff.

In summary, The Sacramento Salads are this years' Stanley Cup champions.

People who have kept up with the series seem to be disappointed that there isn't much innovation here, but for me coming back after several years away, it feels great.
