Well.. for people not familiar with Ice Hockey (beside the old games played for fun) this game is not really accessible. There is a huge lack of a training camp or any other form of structured learning. I wish the game would teach me the meaning of the controls not only show me which button press does what. Due to this game structure, the learning curve is only guided by the in-the moment pop-up tips. That’s not quite helpful considering how quick the game is.

I’m sure the is much in it for fans and veterans but if you want to check out the game be aware that it isn’t holding your hand at all. What a shame considering that other EA Sports games already have cracked the code in this regard.

I would say it wasn’t the right game for me. Gameplay-wise it‘s a classic JRPG with a turn-based fight system .
It has an incredibly slow start but after an hour it starts to shift and gets way more interesting. At this point though, it already lost me due to the gameplay loop not being my cup of tea. If I‘m in the mood for a JRPG again, I think this would be a great option.
