A silly parody of the endless points of interest in modern open world games. Dunno why I played it all the way through though, it gets the point across pretty quick.

the only purpose of this game is to realize how pointless video games truly are. but thats the real beauty in it

easy to complete, weirdly fun, its a satire of the condition of open world games and honestly yeah it got them dead to rights lmao

I guess the point was to prove that the actually addicting part of the loop was to simply go from one place to another and get items off your list. I guess the idea is correct since I 100% it.

This was really goofy, but I had a shockingly good time reading through the journal entries and seeing all of the game/trope references involved here.

A joke that got made into a game. It is just as boring as you expect but I guess that's the point.

This game is odd. It was very pleasant to sit down and play through in a single long night. The music is really well done and the "gameplay" of crawl around and collect blurbs of text was somehow compelling. I read every journal entry and really did enjoy it for a free game but anything higher than 3 stars feels undeserved as what is a parody game.

I had a profound experience whilst playing this game with a group of friends the other day, an experience that seems to have happened to some other reviewers on steam. This game made me feel stupid for playing games, I realized, when you break it down to its purest form, that games are nothing more than executing functions in a script and seeing some colors on a screen that are hopefully enticing enough to bring a dopamine rush to my feeble human brain, and I've been blind to this for years. So why am I still playing games and logging them here? Why do I consciously recognize what games are but still waste time on them? Even recently, I started playing FF14 which, by all means, is virtually the same thing as this. You go from one NPC to the next so that you can level up and endlessly work towards something you'll never achieve. I personally spend more time looking at the map so I know which marker I have to move towards to rush through some dialogue for a random side quest, which is literally what this game does. I think, more than anything, that Open World Game: The Open World Game is a work of art, it breaks this hobby of ours down to its purest form and exposes it for what it truly is.

I still didn’t fully understand what I was playing, but the game lured me to collect all the elements on the map. Minus one hour of life and I liked it.

Я так и не до конца не понял во что поиграл, но игра заманила меня собрать все элементы на карте. Минус один час жизни и мне это понравилось.

It's a free parody of open world games. Only it's not particularly funny? It's basically no gameplay and just a big list of tropes and references you collect. You'd have more fun reading a TV Tropes page.
