This was an alright game, it captured my attention for a while, but slowly became really repetitive and lost me quite early on.
This was not helped by the fact that every single mission was on the same map and required you to do the same thing over and over again.
However, for the period that I was enjoying the game, it was very fun and I found some of the missions quite innovative in their own right.

This is a decent game for people who really liked the Island Flyover mode in Wii Sports Resort (me), it's basically an expanded version of that made to show off the 3DS capabilities. I enjoyed it more than I expected especially in the harder final missions. For some reason there's still a time limit for the "free" flight around the island and it starts even shorter than it was in Resort. It's such a lame decision, it barely gives you any time to do anything and you can't mess around.
If this had been on the eShop at a much lower price point I would've loved it as a kid. As a full price cartridge game in 2011 it wasn't so appealing...

Just a chill time. The missions are a nice little challenge but the best bit for me was just soaring around the island on my seaplane in freeplay. Would love to see this game in a higher resolution setting as the 3DS does hold you back a bit too much but still fun.
Only real downside was the pedaled hang glider, which just isn't different enough from your usual hang glider and requires too much tapping input for not a lot of difference.

You would think expanding one if not the most popular minigame in Wii Sport Resort and resurrecting a gone series would make a great game. But really Pilotwings Resort lacks the depth to justify it beeing an entire game. Sure the exploration was great and was fun but thats it. The challenges are okay but you complete them in like 30 to 40 minutes. Exploring wuhu island in 4hrs if you take your time. Really not worth it but for cheap maybe its a nice little game to play for like a bus ride.
