rance's sense of humor and the way it builds its cast is like baiting someone into the pipeline for a series of deez nuts jokes and then hitting them with a thousand gottis simultaneously

i mean that in the absolute best way possible. but you know what isn't good? this game's dumbass grindy event orb system, which is too inane to even describe concisely. also - a minor point but the ui is the ugliest fucking puke ridden disaster i've ever seen. it looks like the worlds shittiest winamp skin and i say that as someone who unironically uses winamp

anyway this would be more like a 7.5 but i'm going to round up out of respect for my GOATs sieg and anise

just an all around great entry. it has dungeon crawling which is ACTUALLY FUN, a first for the rance series. its got a fantastic ost as usually with the typical hilarious writing combined with a story with massive stakes. everything is sprinkled nicely throughout the gameplay so its hard to get bored.

until the post game. grinding for the true ending is pointless and annoying. do not recommend. just clear the important characters (everyone but tamanegi) and finish the extra missions and move on

this game definitely has some issues but its also one of the most consistent bouts of fun i've had playing a game, I love it

Seu herói usa capa, enquanto o meu.. bem, ele também usa, mas ele participa de uma revolução só porque quer comer mulher.

God i wish Magic were real

SO close to being a perfect game. The story and lore that this game adds is insane! I loved learning about the country of Zeth and it's many corrupts political ideals. It really made me want to change it for the better. I love first person dungeon crawlers, so I felt right at home with this game. The gameplay is so addictive, I had many play sessions that lasted HOURS. Sadly, I did get a bit burnt out by it nearing the end of the game. I love the story to death and I really wanted to know what happens next, but that gameplay burn out really hits you after so many long play sessions. Dungeons can get really long near the end and the requirements for the final ending is a bit annoying to do. But honestly, the most I could dock off this game because of that is a half a point, it's just that good lol.

Ragnarokarc Super Gandhi is the most epic dude ever it was worth playing for him alone
Other than that the game has big balancing issues, the orb system is annyoing and in the classic Rance fashion the game's story sets up future events more than it actually has stuff happen. But it was still fun, I love the postgame and the fact that it brought much needed story closure. After Stories is also a nice addition, please look it up online

I can imagine all of the dungeon crawling being way too repetative for a lot of people but this is exactly my kind of game

pretty cool game, definitely worth playing if youre into rance, and you probably are if youve gotten all the way to VI.
i think one important thing to say about this game though is that it can feel absolutely exhausting to play because of the stamina system, where whenever you enter a battle every party members stamina will lower, and when it reaches zero theyll be forced to go back to base. the game has a max available party of 16 people, allowing you to replace these party members, the problem is when youre mid gameish a lot of these wont be very good and youll be stuck using very subpar party members for most of the map. this probably wouldnt be a problem if the enemy encounter rate wasnt so high.
that being said, id probably play it at least for the story, it's the first rance game where the story takes on a more "serious" tone, although obviously the game still has the silliness that every rance game has. It definitely is the first Rance game, other than IV maybe where it feels like the story actually has stakes in it, it's pretty cool.
really, the gameplay and story tone feel more like a sort of stepping stone kinda into the more modern rance games like sengoku and quest, it’s worth checking out if you enjoyed the previous games definitely

alright dungeon crawler. my game also so happens to consistently manage to break and thats really neat,,

Rance VI is a video game. It has gameplay, characters and story. It even has a soundtrack.

it's aight, I personally think this particular game in the series is tiring to play after a good while, the story is good though, and characters like Magic, Urza, are great

Patton is also here and he's best bro, can't wait for 9

I started playing this on a call as a joke about a month or so ago and now I've beaten the game and this honestly might be one of my favorite games now.

Uniquely grungy atmosphere and a really well-developed setting. The plot is very much a slow burn but the payoff is well worth the wait. Rance himself is pretty far into the asshole side of things in this one, which might turn some people off.

whenever the rance series decides to lock it the fuck in they always nail it. Rance VI is one of the locked-the-fuck-in games of all time.

throughout the last 3 years of learning japanese by self study, ive had the rance series by my side as a barometer of my progress. The first game i ever beat in japanese was Rance 03 because i didnt want to wait for the translation and didn't want to play the pc98 version at the time. Over time ive learned how the language itself works and with it, the trials and tribulations of Rance and Sill, how their characters have evolved and how the world around them has changed them and viceversa.

Reflecting back on VI in particular is very difficult for me, for whatever reason. While i still have 3 more games to play before the journey ends, i think back on VI the most out of all the games. The way Tori balances Urza's determination and apathy towards her life, how the climax rolls around as the stakes get higher and higher, how fun the dungeon exploration and combat and especially that final dungeon that finally let me feel what the game should have been all along. I think Rance VI is just, a really good game, and an important one, and i think writing this down like this is helping me clear my head some on how far ive gone and how much i still have left (even though at time of writing i already beat sengoku rance lmao)

its been fun. I can't wait to go back to the continent soon.

Actually super fun first person dungeon crawler for one of my favorite game series. the story was awesome as usual for a rance game
very grindy though, wish there was an auto battle and better animation skip but it's an old ass game so I forgave it

mais uma pedrada do Tada, não tem jeito

Strange Journey but for Coomers.

In comparison to Kichikuou, this shit is real fucking boring. Events go by so fast that it feels like you’re making a lot of progress in one day, but in reality, you’re going nowhere. And the dungeon design is 90% shit.

The character design is obviously an idolmaster fan. she even has same age, hairstyle and even big forehead

I want to fuck Urza Pranaice while My Glorious Days Romantic Ver. plays in the background

My favorite Rance game so far and one of the best dungeon crawlers I've ever played.

I pretty much did everything there is to do except some post-game events. The gameplay loop is just so damn fun and addictive. The story is equal parts charming and gripping, and the characters are as entertaining as always, probably more so than ever given how all major characters have their own events. These events can only be played if you have enough orbs, a resource which you will be grinding for that unlocks most events. This is a good approach to developing these characters and also integrating it with the gameplay loop.

My only gripe is related to the aforementioned events, I wish they gave more characters more spotlight. Some party members get very few events and one particular "character" is a literal NPC with no events, no dialogues and is mostly useless in battle. It's a running gag in the Rance series to keep male characters in the background and never give them any spotlight because Rance simply hates men, but they didn't have to make him that useless.

Nevertheless, this is just me nitpicking because the game is still jampacked with stuff to do and see.

SMT strange journey for people who masturbate in public

there is a murderer behind you

my ratings prob a bit botched bc i played dis when i was 15 lol

Amazing game in every single aspect that I fell in love with from start to finish. Can't praise it enough.
