I have not played the first game so the narrative was quite confusing

Also hilarious, but not in the way it wanted to be.

The dialogue is so extremely awful. The adults have the biggest potty mouths I've seen in a game in ages. It is so immature and nonsensical. The bad voice acting does not help either.

As a game it's a very hollow experience. It's janky and the animations are not great. The enemy AI is a total joke. They didn't even play test this I guarentee it.

It's not all bad. Sometimes the visuals and environments can look nice. I can def see that there is potential here for a better game. But it missed the mark in basically every area. It's VERY funny though. I laughed many times. So it's worth that

even worse than the original somehow. can't speak as to the narrative since there's no way in hell i'm sitting through the rest of this to see for myself but whereas the first attempt had at least some promise amidst its mess that wasn't really the case here.

the game looks Better at the cost of some of the stronger environmental design while the gameplay itself plays like they decided to take the heavily scripted encounter at the end of the last game as the framework for the whole thing. busted stealth mechanics with awful stalkers, misguided boss battle attempts, unexplained mechanics, and so forth.

playing this today was a severely unpolished experience in regards to bugs. in the two or so hours i gave this i encountered doors that wouldn't give a prompt/open, freezes after cutscenes, multiple broken QTEs, and more. if this is how it is now i can't even imagine playing at launch.

gonna play an actual Clock Tower game as a palate cleanser soon probs.

I don't know why this game is rated lower than the first part if it is superior in every way. The gameplay mechanics are more polished, the escaping and combat have a bit more depth and the story and its characters are MUCH better. The only thing I would say is better in the first one is the atmosphere of the Felton mansion.

A sequel that has more going for it beyond its terrible first impression. Just as if not more janky and unpolished than its predecessor but vastly more interesting on a structural and gameplay level. There's more variety to be found here but the game is (even if mercifully) too short and underdeveloped to truly make an impact beyond a tepid "huh, interesting". While Tormented Fathers fell apart in its final act this has more consistency with its unfolding of the plot, giving the player more of an emotional grip to actually care about anything going on. Unfortunately outside of that Broken Porcelain is a near failure on every other level. Thankfully it's over before it gets too frustrating. It retains the giallo-esque schlock of the previous game and is never boring for that quality but coming to terms with the game's inherent brokenness is a challenge in itself. I'll continue supporting whatever comes from Chris Darril because there is a thread of something great coming if he continues to receive funding. Despite his inability to craft a proper game (and story at that), it's the attempt at something distinct in thematic approach and execution that makes all the difference for someone like me. It's incredibly dumb and probably offensive but pitifully captivating. Sorry lol.

As problematic as its predecessor - both confusing plot and gameplay that gives Deadly Premonition a run for its money in terms of frustrating bugginess.
To my delight, however, it manages to improve on many aspects: collectibles, skill systems and item crafting, whilst the norm in most games now, really enhance this experience, considering the sheer emptiness of the Felton mansion in the previous title, lacking anything but the repetitive, chase-based gameplay.
Both Remothered titles wear their influences on their sleeve: alongside the obvious Clock Tower, this game gives special thanks to 'Swery,' of said Deadly Premonition, and Keichiro Toyama, director of Silent Hill and Siren - the latter of which gets an unusual tribute as the hero, Jennifer, has the ability to explore and forsee the terrors of the colourful Ashmann Inn, using the Sightjack-esque 'Moth Eye.'
Whilst the scares of Broken Porcelain don't quite match the heights of the wine cellar in Tormented Fathers, the chaotic gameplay of being stalked by menaces are as good as ever and, alongside the hokey plot and exaggerated characters, give sense of playing a crazy giallo horror movie from the 70s - fitting for an Italian production.
It's certainly not without its problems - the 'boss fights' are silly, buggy and border on tedium. But, and call me old-fashioned, I like my games to prioritise atmosphere and eccentricity over polish and sometimes even gameplay. The story may also be silly, but the heightened emotional drama somehow cuts through to a surpisingly satisfying, albeit problematic, third act.
Overall, as a PS4 era horror title, it might be a perfect failure, outdated even, but at least it punctuates Remothered's unique brand of giallo craziness and harks back to a time when survival horror boasted a Haunting Ground or Rule of Rose for every annual Resident Evil title.

Same pros and cons as the first game but doubled down with EXTREMELY transphobic dialogue, yes the people being transphobic were framed as bad people it felt like too much

I wanted to play something like clock tower because of the recent announcement and this was on sale for cheap so I played it without the original.

A couple crashes and usually objectives leave me scratching my head a bit. Still not too hard to get through and some mild frights. I think I mostly understood the story, but it's probably messy either way. Good enough for the price if you want something scary.

this shit just sucked. story got so messy and convoluted for no reason.

Rosemary's ass got fatter but at what cost?

The first one was definitely an acquired taste for me. The second one is more of the same but this time I knew what I was getting into.

Before playing it I read a lot that this game is borderline unplayable because of technical and writing issues. Surprisingly, I had not a single bug happening to me while playing through this. Broken Porcelain is just like Tormented Fathers, but more. And that is exactly what I wanted.

I personally also don't have any major issues with the plot. Almost all questions I had were answered and what wasn't was just silly contradiction with itself so I just went with it.

I also seen a lot of complaints about offensive writing and what not. Only thing I can say to those people is to respect artistic vision even if it offends you or to go fuck yourselves if you cant.

I don't know what happened, but it looks like this will be the end for planned three-part Remothered, as the story came to a conclusion unless we will have different cast next time.

In any way, I want to support this silly developer and to see what he will bring out next. Even if it is not "good" by today standards, it certainly is entertaining.

Absolute fucking snoozefest. Somehow even more boring than last time. Still pointlessly offensive. Why does this exist other than to sate its creators ego?
