I wasn't certain how to view this. Personally I love the idea of more crazy fantasy being in it, just like the ending of the previous game and how the original one had creatures and such that are clearly fantasy creatures.
I don't want to spoil it, but essentially the explanation is something completely mundane despite the events of both this game is the DLC for and the previous one in regards to these mystical things being real.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: Baba Yaga - The Temple of the Witch is an optional tomb found in the Soviet mine. The game add-on is already included in the 20 Year Celebrations edition of the game.
Since this tomb is purchasable, it has to be worth your money and time, so what it offers is a great boss fight and of course a tomb larger than the optional tombs found within the game, but you have to know that in the end, you will finish this in less than an hour.
All in all, a great add-on, but honestly the price it's a bit debatable since it's only an hour long.

This is, like, the textbook definition of "Pretty Good DLC." It adds a neat little area, Lara occasionally gets to trip balls with some fun visuals, and actually had an alright little narrative to it. If you get the audio logs then it's pretty predictable almost immediately but it's still a fun little short story. And for a game that has pretty mid combat, the final boss fight was actually alright (albeit a bit long). Totally Fine and generally worth doing this one if you're playing the game.
This was a pretty good dlc. Its nothing that special but its more Rise of The Tomb Raider which I love. The hallucinations stuff while overdone to hell in games ever since Far Cry 3 was still pretty cool, and the boss fight was quite enjoyable with a good balance of combat and the puzzle solving this reboot series is known for. Its free with the 20th anniversary edition so there really is no reason not to play this.

Only the dlc section caused my game to freeze, not once but twice. I got this for nothing bundled on sale with the trilogy but I would not be happy paying 15-20 for this back in the day. The first half is hold w until you have to leave to make a potion, you go back to the main game area to collect herbs and liver stuff. Then you just fast travel back and finally have new content in a over-extended boss fight. Basically, it just adds a 1 hour side mission with reused content.
Baba Yaga - The Temple of the Witch expands on the story of a Russian man who chases after the legend of Baba Yaga, a witch said to have killed his spouse. It fits pretty seamlessly with the main game, to a point I suspect it will take people who don't own this DLC out of the experience.
As for its quality, it's more of the main game. It's fun, the visuals are super enticing, but the level it offers is also home to the two worst puzzles in the entirety of RotR. So there's that.
