the puzzles have no diff but the gameplay is overall very enjoyable, story is interesting and jessie and isabella have so much chemistry for so little screentime they had

Honestly? I wish I liked this game more. Conceptually it's really cool but something about it just didn't click for me. I don't really remember much, but I DO remember part of the reason why I dropped this game is what I am dubbing Roadwarden syndrome -- I want to play a game once and have a fulfilling experience. If I have to play multiple times just to get a complete experience, then I'll probably get overwhelmed and be unable to pick a path to move forward with.

My brain needs to be studied under a microscope or some shit. Normally player choice is celebrated and I haven't placed why it works in some games but not in others for me. I guess part of it is being tormented by the fact that I'm missing stuff (by design) and if I can't scratch that itch through recorded footage that has been uploaded online, then I'm not willing to put in the time/effort to spend more hours on an experience that should very well have been complete but ISN'T because ooh, choices!

I liked what I played, but can’t tell you anything specific. Lost me when it became a “your choices matter” type game

I liked it but I dunno, something just didn't do it for me. Part of it was being forced to snoop on my girlfriend and blackmail a dude to get her the "perfect present" like my girl, that's not how you do it. Really rubbed me the wrong way

Fun little game, wish there was a bit more to it. Probably won't play to get the other routes.

This game was incredibly enjoyable, I loved the mystery and the consequences and the style of the game itself.
Also, LESBIANS!

What could have been a good investigative Cyberpunk game about big corporations was ultimately a very dull experience for me. The game consists of basically two modes of play: one where you hack into buildings to gather information and one where you interview people to present them with said information. The information gathering is unfortunately very repetitive and gets boring rather quickly. Talking to people isn't helped by the generally bad writing and the annoying protagonist in particular. As one of the characters in the game fittingly puts it: "My god, you are tough to talk to". The game is based on you making choices, but I was constantly presented with the choice of being an asshole or being an asshole.

Just didn't work. Bugfixes took too long and didn't do anything. Good potential.

this kind of felt like other narrative indies i've enjoyed, such as the first orwell game, so i felt like i knew what to expect after the first few chapters, and it ended up surprising me.

first off, this game has a pretty decent length - i was expecting to finish this in an afternoon, and it took me two long sessions over a weekend to finish. i also think a lot of the presentational elements are great. the contrast between excellent character portraits and the 3d room in the top portion of the screen is a fun stylistic choice, and the soundtrack is all good. the only disappointment is that many of the songs are rewards for finding collectables, so the music can be quite repetitive at the beginning.

the gameplay was all pleasant. clicking on cameras to activate them, scanning rooms for objects and navigating drones through obstacle courses, that all worked and even though the mechanical depth was shallow, there is plenty of variety in terms of room layout. by the end, you know how to deal with any situation and feel like you have speed and competency, but that's also not the main draw of this game in my opinion.

the narrative is where song of farca really shines. the worldbuilding is perfectly in-depth for a game of this scope, and you learn about the island and the world in ways that mostly feel very natural. i found the writing for all the characters to be varied and generally high quality, and the plot throws plenty of twists and shocking moments at you. things get very heavy at points, and while it sometimes stumbles in its tone, it remained enthralling throughout my entire playthrough. it feels like playing a page-turner.

overall, i really do think this is worth playing, especially if you like detective stories and political intrigue. this is a well-rounded, fun, and intense story with an entertaining surveillance gameplay shell wrapped around it to keep you engaged.
