best web swinging mechanic of all time

This game started to be more creative and at the same time bring realism and dynamism to Spider man 2

Why did no one told me PC version had nothing to do with the other ones?

The swinging controls carry this game

If every game had Bruce Campbell as the tutorial instructor, society would be in a much better place

This game is like going to New York and having all of your friends tell ypu you need to try this one famous old hotdog place. When you get there the food is good, sure, but it's not really as great as people make it out to be. Definetly one of those things that gets better public opinions for being a classic and people's childhood favorites. Still, it's a pretty good hot dog

The second best spiderman game after the ps4 one in my opinion. The swing mechanic is fun and smooth and I explored the city for hours when replaying it. Unfortunately the story and voice acting is pretty laze and the main missions are so bad it hurts. I wish they kept to the freeroam missions instead.

Gold standard for Spiderman games. Even if the newer Insomniac ones are denser and prettier, this installment was the closest to being true Spiderman perfection.

Got this and THUG for 2 for $50 back in the day - what a deal that was for 2 classics. Webswinging was not surpassed for a very long time, and ragdolling the bad guys around was a good time.

I don't think this is as good as I remember.

Lo recordaba muchísimo mejor. Es muy repetitivo y pesado a día de hoy.

I love spiderman and i played this game over and over just like how i watched the movie. personal pleasure

Putting Spider-Man into a semi-open-world was a fantastic idea back in this game. Eventually it does end up feeling a bit dry as there's only like 3-4 missions that show up outside the main story, but all the same, swinging around Manhattan as your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is great fun.

Spider-Man 2 revolutionized superhero games with its exhilarating web-swinging mechanics. Soaring through Manhattan and seamlessly leaping into combat is a pure joy, truly making you feel like the iconic wall-crawler. The combat, while simplistic, is snappy and satisfying, and the story loosely inspired by the movie adds cinematic flavor. However, repetitive mission design, occasionally frustrating camera issues, and a somewhat bland open world hold it back from true greatness.

Still the best swinging mechanics in any spidey game

Pizza missions had 5 year-old me stressed like I was the one who had rent to pay.

The definitive Spiderman movie. The definitive Spiderman game. Changed Spiderman games for the better.

This game is absolutely hilarious - I love the deadpan voice acting. And the swinging is actually pretty damn fun, especially considering that this game is 20 years old. But I abandoned it at this stupid ass liberty island mission. Holy shit, what a terrbile boss fight. How are you supposed to get to those goddamn spheres effectively? Best regards,

Actually a little surprised that this isn't better, based on its reputation. Lotta jank, not much of interest to do in the (admittedly huge and impressive, for 2004) open world, and a short, awkward story. The web swinging, however, is as good as advertised. In the modern games, it's basically an auto-pilot that, if you want to invest some minor effort into, can be a little more engaging and efficient. Here, though, you do kind of have to genuinely learn it to get anywhere at all, and mastering it can feel VERY satisfying. Higher ceiling and lower floor - I guess I shouldn't be surprised by that contrast to the modern AAA experience.

Impressive and worthwhile only for the groundbreaking traversal and for seeing just how much this laid the groundwork for future games. Like, there's both big structure stuff and tiny little gameplay/mission design details that they are still doing EXACTLY in 2023, wild.

Revolutionary for web-slinging, but the rest of the game hasn't aged the best.

God this game was so fun as a kid
