To me, this game thrives on vibes majorly, and isn't bad to play. I don't love what it's billed as vs. what it is. It's sort of sold as this kind of chill vibe-out game, but is a lot more difficult than it seems on the surface. Which isn't really bad. The chillness comes mostly from the bits of dialogue and character archetypes in it, and the tunes are pretty good. It is a bit frustrating at times but nothing too unfair, generally. I do wish there was a bit more variety to levels, and maybe some more(with more checkpoints in them), but what is here is very good. Maybe just get it on a slight sale, 2 or 3 bucks off.

But it's hard to go wrong with a low-poly raccoon game. It's somewhat becoming a niche subgenre/aesthetic and I am one hundred percent supportive of that and will buy into it even if the game itself doesn't hit me just right.

The tanuki is cute but the game really should've stayed as a browser game. This version is just pretty boring and dry, and definitely too long.

the music is really good im just bad at these types of games i havent played in a while so maybe id be better at it
tanuki is so cute

i remember this game having some twitter popularity when it was still in development but then i kinda just forgot about it and honestly... for good reason the movie is very much style over substance and while that can still make for an enjoyable game i found that here the levels went on for way too long making it kinda tedious rather than relaxing more but shorter levels would be the way to go here imo

I loved the vaporwave/synthwave aesthetic of this game. It epsecially shows well through the music. This game also has nice unlockables like shirts, hats, skateboard decks and more that you unlock thru collecting the in game nacho currency lol. Anyway, the level design was really interesting and everytime you die the level rearrages itself so its always a new experience. There are also challenges within levels. Unfortunately, the game does tend to drag on a bit and I was bored after a while. If you're just playing the game from start to finih you'll get about 2 or 3 hours of gameplay. Which seems short, but the way the game kindof dragged for me made it feel like forever. This is a fun game to play in short bursts. But, long sessions left me very bored after a while.

Simple fun. Gets old after a while, though.

Deserves a lot better than to be called a "joke game" as the devs very clearly put in some effort to make this a game that's actually enjoyable to play. It's not bad (despite making me want to play Sayonara Wild Hearts instead) but despite being consistently engaging, it's never really fully fun. It starts off a little too slow - I can imagine a lot of people dropping this before all the mechanics have been fully revealed. The controls are a little too stiff for my liking. The music carries about half the experience - the tracks are all good, but most of them don't really fit the atmosphere of the game very well. There are a couple tracks here that sound like they would fit into the original OutRun soundtrack and those are by far the best fit - they're still funky enough to fit into this game's overall aesthetic but upbeat enough to fit the pace of everything that's going on on-screen.

All in all it's a solid game, but I wouldn't encourage anyone to go out of their way to pick this one up. If you're just looking for a chill game that plays like an endless runner then this should be your cup of tea - grab it while it's on sale.
