God crafted this game for us, and you should not ignore him. It's a very short rhythm game where the main battle is fighting through all the peepee poopoo jokes.

There is a very dedicated group of modders that help make the game even better by constantly updating it with custom music to play. Consider trying those out if you're not into the pre-selected music.

I do however have a fear of baboons, so this game turned me a bit feral.

very funny, but also frustrating and bland at points. progressing could be more rewarding. 12,49 btw

The best normal game about playing the trombone that doesn't get weird at any parts ever!

I lied THIS is the greatest video game experience I've ever had.

fun meme game that's balls hard

A silly rhythm game with a corny sense of humor and a surprising amount of “hidden” content. The trading card system wasn’t as annoying as I thought it would be, but grinding to craft 7 hotdog cards to fight the final boss was. I want to S rank every song but I doubt that will happen. The addition of new songs every once in a while keeps me coming back.

Os trombones são uma invenção do capitalismo pra vender trombone champ

unironically a really good rhythm game to get good at
(unofficial) mod support is pure insane and good tunes to sleep and toot to.

Funny horn game. Mod support was neat as well.

Goofy ahh game, but its genuinely fun and probably the funniest comedy game I've played.

Hilarious and fun to take turns playing this with friends. As the novelty wore off I got bored and don't see myself returning to this and trying to get high ranks on all the songs. Definitely worth at least 30 minutes of good fun though.

The true organic joy of analog controls writ large in booming discordant tones. Funniest game since QWOP.

i ❤ rhythm games with unique mechanics but the game is just RIDDLED with funny poopoo haha monkey youtuber type humor and it gets a little grating

Genuinely a super well crafted little rhythm game - a quirky little experience that fully commits to every aspect. There's so much attention to detail in everything - and is so full of personality that doesn't need to be there, but I'm so glad that it is. Consistently both fun and funny in the best way

I never finished it but what I did play was really fucking funny and amusing. It has a really nice sense of humor about itself, and it knows that it can only keep that humor up for so long which is why the game just doesn't feel like a super long game. Very entertaining, a cool take on the rhythm and music game genre, and one that I'll probably finish at some point!
And remember, baboons!

This is the funniest game I've ever seen, and the funniest game I've ever played.

silly trombone game very very fun 🌭

So this is one of those games that gained a popularity for how ridiculous trombone playing can be, but surprisingly it is NOT one of those shitty games that get attention for their intentional difficulty.
Trombone Champ takes you a deep dive into the musical culture of the trombone by having yourself play... uh... the legendary trombone, inspired by the ever acclaimed trombone memes you've seen around the internet in the past ages.

Being a very basic rhythm game with a parodic sense, the gameplay is pretty straightforward and simple: using your trusty mouse (and the keyboard, if applied) you input a sequence of notes that are drawn in the piano roll, but as you play the notes the trombone plays as well, making tooting sounds along with your input. The music library is composed mostly of classical music for your own pleasure, but some of them are remixes and original compositions, sometimes even the silliest ones so far, and the track selection screen is also well defined, suited with curious facts for each track selected, however, due to the simple nature of the core gameplay, there are few difficulty settings such as a intentionally too fast Turbo Mode. The game was released around September 2022 but since then got numerous updates adding new songs and few extra features, alongside some accessibility features.

Now the next part i'm going to tell here is quite spoiler territory, cause this game apparently deserves a bit more for a very unexpected extra feature which

Somehow, the game has also a (short) story which first time players may not see coming. When you start a new file you ask yourself why there's a narrated introduction, will instantly get confused by the sudden presence of baboons... and hot dogs, and there's apparently a collectible card section, which exists for the purpose of mocking free-to-play games that involve buying card packs from loot boxes. Yeah, that's right, the devs really sneaked in and placed this thing. At first, things may seem to not make sense until you get to encounter strange NPCs hidden through the game's menus, asking you to give them toots... and turds... well,

From my perspective, Trombone Champ is not meant to be a serious rhythm game like Guitar Hero, but a silly product just there for the funsies, but it didn't stop from this game having a really fast but unofficial mod scene since the game is made in Unity and uses r2modman, and i can tell you the mod scene is VERY EXPECTABLE.

Comparing this to every other game involving trombones, hot dogs, and baboons, I would say this is the best one.

A surreal take on the rhythm format established by Guitar Hero, filled to the brim with baboons and hot dogs. The humour will keep your attention for a few hours, but the simplistic toot-based gameplay will soon grate.

OK... it's really dumb, and it knows it is, but I did find it pretty funny. This could have been nothing more than a shitpost; a character that looks like that playing sombre national anthems badly on a trombone is already pretty funny, and that could have been the end of it. But there ends up being a whole Inscryption-esque meta-narrative thread on top of everything, which I won't spoil other than to say it constantly impressed me with how stupid it was willing to get (in a good way). The actual game itself was functional and fair but pretty frustrating and the controls, despite being very simple, felt weirdly unnatural to me. Overall, decent game, good memes.
