Honeslty, it's fun but short. I've yet to play "Dome Keeper", so I really don't have a point of reference, and I have not played the "Deep Threat" DLC. Ending is lackluster to say the least, and the gameplay is repetitive. No point in a second play through. I enjoyed the gameplay loop (Mine, grab resources, upgrade weapons/ship/mech, fight wave, repeat) just long enough to beat the game, and I might consider getting the DLC.

In short, if you are interest in playing the game Get it on a sale, it goes below $5 very often (including at the time of this review).

I haven't played Dome Keeper so I have no point of reference, but I can say that this game was just boring. The upgrades and mechanics are neat, but again each run just feels so similar that I never felt that itch to try another run.

On first glance, you might think this is basically Dome Keeper, but vertical instead of horizontal. As a fan of the first game, I'd go as far as saying Wall World does some stuff even better than the game it was inspired on.

First off: there's a permanent progression system with upgrades that carry over your runs. They're surprisingly deep and varied. You find them scattered around the mines and use bits you earn from breaking blocks. It's fun to start weak and see you surviving more in each subsequent run. In the end, you're basically clearing mines in seconds.

Then there's also different guns and equipment for you to choose and upgrade. While there isn't too much enemy variety, they do a good job of keeping you on your toes. The ending is a bit underwhelming and you feel as if there could be more content overall (biomes, for example).

Beware: Wall World is one of those titles I like to call "gaming crack". Extremely addictive and grindy in a good way. Control scheme is a little wonky on console, but that's more of a porting issue than a dev oversight.

Nice premise, but there's very little variance with the weapons and upgrades so the game ends up being very repetitive and it gets boring fast. There is basically one "best" strategy that you can go for everytime without fail.

The game does look and sound good, and it's honestly a nice way to spend an afternoon. If you find it cheap, get it, otherwise i'd skip

Worse dome keeper. Grinding for the meta progression just ruins it. Sometimes that works, in this game it doesn't.

its not like i dont like it but god this game is janky. not only that but the recent dlc kinda fucked up the balance immensely

Fun but very grindy. Love the mining, the tower defense not so much-but can see why it's needed.

Pretty decent, gives you 8h+ of entertainment, lacks a bit of randomness and content

Edit: Zerei, platinei e amei.

its like they looked at Dome Keeper and said "what if we did more with it", then fumbled every idea they had on top of the base idea. it also lacks a ton of polish and isnt nearly as nice to look at as Dome Keeper is.
in short, too derivative and its presentation is too weak to make that repetition fun in any way.

Not as good a loop as Dome Keeper, but a very comparable game. Progression dies down at a point and I lost the will to continue.

Nettes Rouge lite.

Fun and engaging enough for me to finish, but I found it to be a bit slow paced and did not care for the combat at all.

Interesting world and worldbuilding, if a bit sparse. Most of the original batch of unlockable upgrades aren't that fun, but once you can hollow out an entire cavern in under 2 minutes it feels cathartic.

Very good game
Still haven’t finished the dlc
My only real problem with this game is that it is fairly buggy, but with each update this problem is fixed more and more.

It's hard to avoid the comparison to Dome Keeper here but to dismiss Wall World as a mere copy doesn't do the game justice.

Here you control a spider mech that climbs up and down the titular wall, stopping at mine entrances which you delve into digging for resources, weapons, and upgrades which allow you to better stave off alien attacks. If we stopped here we'd be an almost one-to-one clone of DK but WW goes much further! You can not only 'move the dome' so to speak, but there's a vast arsenal of interchangeable and upgradable weapons, digging is faster, mines are larger, there are more rewards to dig up, and caves come in a variety of themes and layouts each with a unique resource, and since you're on a timer you have to choose which to delve into according to upgrade needs.

The permanent upgrades you can buy between runs give you the mobility, offense, and utility that is all but required to survive the boss encounters, as well as enabling you to efficiently plunder the caves before your time runs out. On top of that there are quality of life upgrades to be unlocked via blueprint treasures that drive replay value. The downside is you unlock stuff too quickly! Within about 8 hours I had all the base gear at max level. I wouldn't have minded if stuff was more expensive to encourage more runs and spread out the progress as I was really enjoying the grind.

The other major downside is the stability and glitches. Sometimes the gun gets stuck between shooting and sucking and does nothing, sometimes the camera gets stuck zoomed out. Later in the game the auto-mining explosions lag everything and the game starts to shudder and lose frames the longer you play. Even the pretty workshop menu screen was lagging for me with all the animations playing, and sadly the final boss glitched out such that I had to replay the game one more time to trigger the ending credits.

Even with all its flaws Wall World is fun if you enjoy grind focused game loops and a roguelite structure. It offers an exciting and short experience albeit stained by those performance issues, but if you're willing to overlook that you'll be in for a solid 20 hours set in an interesting world with soft storytelling, plenty of build combinations to explore, and treasures to uncover. Well worth a try, especially if you had previously written it off as a 'rip off'.

The concept is good but in practice the game is not worth much: it has a lot of grinding, it depends a lot on the RNG, it is unsatisfactory, the meta progression is crap, the upgrade tree makes little sense,...
Maybe updates have fixed it.

tower defense divertido y original

I'm a sucker for digging games, so this was right up my alley.
There's a bit of a learning curve, the beginning is slow, most of the time it requires making several runs to buy one upgrade.
By the end, you'll be climbing the wall up and down as you please.

I would've like that the lore you sometimes find in caves led to somewhere.

fun game with rogue lite element . simple yet fun . so similar to dome keeper . u have to dig in wall in order to get resources and upgrade your suit and robot
