This might have been the first game I ever played. It was so cool to me, but it's hard to rate it how many years later. I remember getting into the bakugan anime after I had first moved to Canada. What was probably the happiest day of my life, at that time (or maybe ever, do we have the happiest moments as children?), when my dad bought me a silver/grey nintendo DS lite. I bought this game with it, I remember it was from Costco too haha.
Good memories, wish I remembered more to accurately rate this game. All I remember from it was that sometimes in battle you would have to trace a circle very fast repeatedly, faster than your opponent to win. And I would absolutely obliterate the screen doing that with my little DS pen. Would have scratches and you could see the imprint of the circle on the screen. Good times.

This game gets a lot right in presenting Bakugan like you'd be playing it in season 1 of the show. Some liberties are taken like the addition of powerups and type advantages. Those add an extra layer of strategy, even if type advantages are unbalanced.
And then you get to the battles themselves, which IMO should've been oriented towards cards countering each other rather than just spamming them to power up your Bakugan and then playing one of three mini-games and whoever's Bakugan has more points at the end wins.
I get this was obviously first and foremost marketed toward children, but it feels like a pretty big missed opportunity.
Still, I find this game pretty enjoyable and revisit it from time to time.
