Arkham City is a great evolution of everything from the first game, it's gameplay is fun enough to keep you going and gliding around the city feels nice. That said, some missions are dumb and boring, the story is nothing but passable, and the game isn't challenging in any real way. Also, everything in this game would be done better in Arkham Knight, making City not as enticing as it used to be in 2011
The spirit of the grimy city, the fluent and enjoyable fighting mechanic, the flying, the getting into a situation and solving it heroicly, the charactes loved and hated, everything is there. Playing it 10 years after it's initial release I can recommend it to everyone who wants fluent action game with LOADS of collectibles. It was engaging enough to get 100% of the riddler puzzles in the main game.
Best superhero game ever made bar none. Took what the first one did well and expanded upon it big time. Possibly the best game sequel ever made too. Love it with a passion. It's side missions are the best in the series as is the story itself. Every villain in this game is done well and the boss fights are incredible. The whole atmosphere of this game is something that I feel goes under the radar big time as well. The side missions are another superb element, mainly the Hush one which is just great, the little twist at the end of it is so good.
The best Arkham game. The combat feels polished, much more than the first and the story is also really good with quite a powerful ending. The open world was a good size too, meaning every mission was in a small space. There are a couple issues regarding pacing, and some issues with having to traverse between two sides of the map, which can be a little tedious, but overall the game is pretty solid. It incorporates all the villains quite well into the story, and the majority of boss battles are fun, especially the Mr Freeze one. The predator rooms are much more fun too, with more gadgets to use and ways to take down enemies.
