A lovely visual upgrade with a variety of controller options to please just about anyone. It's paced pretty well in the beginning and then becomes rather tedious to backtrack. There are some rather brutal stretches where I could have used a save point here and there, but I would say these were faults of the original and not due to the remaster. It's pretty much the same game, but with a new coat of paint. If this is how Prime 4 will look, then I'm excited. I hope the others in the trilogy get this treatment too, as the second game is my favorite. We'll have to wait and see, but it's nice having solid 2D and 3D Metroid representation on the Switch!

Me escaping from tallon IV after eating all the phazon:

I sat down and beat this whole thing in one day and I am still trying to process that this both a real thing that is actually out, and that it is somehow just as good a remaster as I've ever seen be put out. The best to ever do it remains as always, the best to ever do it.

Si tienes que hacer un remake gráfico de algo, esto es el camino a seguir: totalmente fiel al estilo original, simplemente construyendo y realizándolo con las tecnologías actuales. De resto, sigue siendo juegardo.

fuck yeah baby metroid prime baby fuck

If this had better combat it would be a certified masterpiece, the upgrades on visuals and controls are welcome.
I hope Metroid Prime 4 learns a thing or two from Eternal's combat system.

The remaster so flawless it entirely invalidates the original and runs perfectly with no hitch. Was a stable 60 the entirety of my time playing and felt great to control with the new dual stick controls. I only suggest switching the controls for missile and weapon change so that beam combos are easier to pull off. Besides that being one of the many times Ive beaten the game, new insights that I never knew about Metroid Prime til now. The game had voice acting? In Europe and Japan, both of which are options for the remaster to set giving you an opening narration and end crawl among some incidental ones like location announcements but only when entering a game save. I also didnt appreciate just how The Thing this game is. The music stings with a heartbeat like sound are absolutely invoking the cold paranoia alien flick in the most tense of lore areas. Amazing game worth playing again, or for first time if you never have, and this is the version you should play.

It's really good! Metroid Prime Remastered has become a new favorite of mine from this series, and is something I could see myself wanting to replay in the future! The story and lore the game provides is interesting, the controls are solid, and the visuals make this one of nicer looking games on the Switch. Boss encounters mostly provide a good challenge, especially the last two bosses. And the areas are fun to explore and are visually interesting, especially Phendrana Drifts. My only tow criticisms that come to mind are the endgame fetchquest for some of the chozo artifacts, and the Chozo Ghost enemies, who pretty much ruin the Chozo Ruins the moment they start appearing. Regardless of it's issues, I still highly recommend Prime Remastered, especially if you enjoyed Dread.

I never finished the original metroid prime, I got pretty close after giving up in the phazon mines saying "I'm just not having enough fun, and this game is too long". well, I've finished it now and honestly, my opinion of the game has gotten worse! I already thought that metroid prime was a mixed bag of a game, the opening bits full of a sense of fun that quickly gives way to drudgery around the moment you pick up the varia suit. while the game is pretty fun when you're making forward advancements, the game increasingly becomes backtracking slowly through rooms that may as well have been loading screens, and the final hours of the game being spent on a pointless quest to backtrack through areas you have already done hours of backtracking through to find items that do nothing but unlock the end of the game, only to be rewarded with two bad boss fights and one of the worst final zones in any video game. all that said, there are some tangible improvements over the original with the new control options and the remastered visuals are gorgeous

Biblical Fiction, what could I say?

best looking switch game and it's a game from like 2002 lol

i love metroid !

i had a really great time finally being able to play this! really enjoyed the atmosphere it had everything comes together really beautifully. the only genuine complaint i have is that the thermal vision makes me dizzy but that is more of a just of a me thing other than that it's a really lovely game and i'm excited to see the echoes remaster that is presumably in the pipeline

I am so happy that I finally have gotten to play through Metroid Prime on Nintendo Switch! My many years of waiting to check out this subseries of Metroid have finally paid off with one of Nintendo's best remasters ever! What an absolutely wonderful metroidvania. I totally see why people have hyped up this series for so many years. Now port 2 and 3!

good music, very good gameplay, good pacing,it is very captivating, what a surprise for me this game was.

Not exactly how I thought Metroid Prime would look under these circumstances but I couldn't have asked for a better way to revisit it. The game itself is probably my least favorite of the trilogy but that doesn't mean it isn't great. I've played the original half a dozen times throughout my life and after finishing it for the first time in a couple years, It's crazy how well I remember the entirety of the game. Gets better with every playthrough.

Nintendo really gonna charge us $120 for Metroid Prime Trilogy remastered

A remaster this game deserves, and is taking the place of the original simply for how much it improves the original with better graphics and controls! Any faults the original had outside of that won’t exactly be fixed if it ruined the experience for you, but if you love it like me this will just be the same amazing game…but even better.

I got into Metroid games a little bit late. When I went back to try and play Prime a few years ago, it truly felt unplayable. The controls and QoL stuff really made it feel dated. I stopped playing rather quickly. Happy to report that this remastered version fixes all of those playability issues - and brings this classic into modernity.

Well, mostly. The saving and backtracking and "where do I go next huh" can REALLY be a slog. The bosses are fun, the controls and map is fluid. I really enjoyed my time here! But it still feels like at this point other metroid-esque games have out metroided Samus herself.

I LOVE THIS REMASTER. MP1 is already one of my favorite games of all times, and the visual effects touches and 60 frames make it THAT MUCH BETTER. thank you nintendo i owe you my life

un embole agarrar los artefactos chozo, me gustó que el final boss sea el title drop, lastima que en vez de (core) tendrian que haberle puesto (remastered)

Simply put. it's a large objective improvement to one of the best games of all time. This game is an absolute triumph in world design, atmosphere, and environmental storytelling and is genuinely one of the best, most highly detailed games of all time. The soundtrack is enchanting and this is probably the best looking Switch game of all time. The new options are really helpful and actually are actually pretty cool to see in a nintendo game and hope others follow this example.

Simply put this is one of the best remasters ever made and one of the best games of all time. And it's only $40. Get it the fuck now.

First I was bummed that Nintendo didn't announce port of a whole trilogy on Switch. But now, playing this brilliant remaster, I do not agree on anything less than that. Even if sequels will be 70 bucks each - considering it looks as good as Prime 1 Remastered, give it to me and give it to me NOW!

P.S. First time playing, 76%, 18:02.

Never played Prime before but even 20 years after the originals release I see why it's held in such high regard. Great atmosphere and exploration.

Nintendo really undersold how much was redone for this game. It looks fantastic on Switch. The comparisons between this version and the original show a ton of work was put into this.

Only have a couple small issues with it. There's one or two areas that really could have used one more save station due to how long and filled with enemies they are (looking at you Mines). Also could use a couple more major bosses.

FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC REMASTER NINTENDO AND RETRO STUDIOS. Not only is this one of the greatest games ever made, it's one of the greatest remasters, borderline remakes ever made. Everything looks so amazing it's amazing what great art direction can do. The gamecube original still holds up well graphically to this very day but this version blows it out of the water, I can't believe this is running on the underpowered switch. Kudos to retro for once again pushing the hardware to the limit and making a beautiful game, bravo I cant even describe how happy I am to see this EXISTS! 100/10 No complaints whatsoever I double dipped this damn game.
