People that go "Forces is worse than this"just watched lets plays of this, or have not touched it in years. Everythng in this game is abysmal, feels wrong, and the music being good is a given, but its not a saving grace for total lack of quality.

There are those that say this game has more to offer than Sonic Forces because at LEAST it's funny in its brokenness, and to that I say... what's wrong with you? This game is broken. It's a mess. It's NOT funny in its brokenness, outside of memes. This is just a terrible game. Don't kid yourself.

My dad bought us a PS3 late into it's life for Christmas and got us this and Killzone 3. Still kinda have fond memories of it and it can be funny with the glitches.

Honestly, it's a fine game. Especially compared to today's standards.

I'm sure that many people can relate to this sentiment, but as a kid, I was fairly uncritical when it came to my entertainment. Young, single-digit IX could find enjoyment in a lot of things. A lot of those things I might look back on in 10 years and think "god, that was some fucking dross, huh?", sure, but at the time, I didn't see that, I was still having fun.

Even young, naive, single-digit IX thought this was a steaming pile of shit. Current day IX concurs.

I know how to avoid most of the glitches and bullshit so that probably led to me having a better time with this game than most, but even then I think it's a good game.
I enjoyed all the levels except for all versions of Flame Core, Silver's Aquatic Base and Kingdom Valley, and End of The World.
Level design for the most part is good, especially Sonic's levels. The super speed sections can screw you over at the end of the levels, but besides Crisis City, they're pretty easy.
Sonic 06's homing attack is the best in the series because of it being able to defy gravity, and Shadow's has an even longer range which you can use to get some insane distance.
The story isn't very good, but the CG cutscenes are cool.
Solaris is my favourite final boss in any Sonic game, probably thanks to the orchestral version of His World which is my favourite track in the franchise.

this game is just really bad. this game by itself can be attributed for almost entirely ruining the sonic series' reputation and it shows - it has its' good elements but with how janky the game plays, how boring the story is, and how bad it is in comparison to basically any main sonic game before this, this game is just...bad. not worth it

One of the legendary kusogames. I think the best way to put it is that it's the video game equivalent of The Room--its awful in all the right ways. Somehow, a version of this game that wasn't a broken buggy shitty mess would make it worse.

If Astro Boy for PS2, Sonic Adventure 2, and the cancelled Fifth Phantom Saga had a horrific baby.

I haven't beaten it, but it is somehow more tolerable for me than Heroes. Unlike Heroes, I can't consider '06 a video game, it's just a big fiery mess. I'll probably pick it up when I am legally allowed to drink so I can be absolutely fucking smashed and have the greatest laughs imaginable.

occasionally funny for the wrong reasons but is pretty much just flat out unplayable due to the load times

Sonic the Hedgehog (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ Sonikku za Hejjihoggu?) is a platform video game that was made to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. It was developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It introduced the recurring character Silver the Hedgehog. It is the first Sonic game to support high definition graphics.

Due to its lack of a distinct title, the game has been referred to by a number of different aliases, most of them coined by the Sonic fandom. Its most popular alias is Sonic '06, and other aliases include Sonic 2006, Sonic: 15th Anniversary, Sonic 360 and Sonic Next-Gen.

The game faced development issues which resulted in the product being rushed. Upon its release, it was widely criticized for its numerous gameplay glitches and long loading times.

The PlayStation 3 version was available to be streamed on the PlayStation 4 and PC via the PS Now subscription service, with PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Sony Bravia Smart TV (2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 models), Sony Blu-Ray players and Samsung Smart TV support for the service being dropped in 2017. At the moment, it is only available in Japan.[3]

Say what you want about this game As one of the worst games but this of it all is one of my first sonic games I played and I liked it true it was pretty difficult and frustrating with all the glitches throughout the game it was so bad that I couldn’t even continue through the rest of the story because of it I love destroying the mash in the robots as well as running plane through sonic tails and the shadow storyline is also good
It’s no use - Silver

I would honestly rather play this then Minecraft and Fortnite

It's a bad game that had so much potential but got ruined by Sega's poor management.

Remake it. It's a good base for a great game. Doesn't change that as it is now, it's bad.

It's actually impressive how a franchise as huge as Sonic put out one of the most embarrassing messes of a game. We may never see such an extreme failure of this magnitude ever again. That's why I find this game fascinating to go through. It can be frustrating, but my morbid curiosity demands I keep going. It's a religious experience. And the worst/best part is, I still have more fun playing this than Sonic Boom or Lost World.

playing this in an orthodontist waiting room was my first ever exposure to anything sonic related

This is one of the first video games I ever played

Unfinished and too many glitches, but it holds a special place lol.

I still consider this to be one of the worst games I've ever played period. The controls are way too precise and annoying, there's zero sense of fluidity or acceleration of any kind to be had with the movement, every character reacts the exact same way to running on any terrain so there's barely any sense of genuine speed, the level design is all complete garbage, the combat in this game is monotonous and in most cases required to progress within a stage, the camera is an embarrassing mess, the game is automated more than Sonic Forces, all the extra playable characters suck, the bosses are the absolute worst in the entire series, the stages just drag without anything interesting happening, the hub areas are all vacant and empty with the same godawful copy pasted town missions spewed all over the place, the loading times are awful and extremely frequent, the game has massive amounts of slowdown almost constantly, there are bugs and glitches galore, the plot is boring and pretentious, the visuals, aesthetics and stage themes are bland and forgettable, you get the idea. And one would think it would at the very least get better when you play Shadow and Silver's campaign afterwards, but no. They're even WORSE than Sonic is (Shadow's gameplay including "mash a and win" combat encounters and vehicle sections somehow worse than they were in Shadow the Hedgehog, and Silver's gameplay boiling down to "pick stuff up and throw it back at them: the game" with environmental puzzles that are all basically "hold the right trigger and I'll solve this for you"). I don't even think this game is so bad it's good, because that would imply me having any sort of enjoyment with this game ironic or otherwise, but I can't. You can't even laugh at how bad it is, you can just sit there and be depressed as the game drags itself on for another 10 hours or so. Any sort of slightly amusing bug or glitch gets old after the first 3 viewings and then you quickly realize how terrible this game really is.

This is a game that I don't think has any redeeming qualities whatsoever. None. I don't even think the soundtrack is good despite what everyone keeps telling me. Everything in this game is simply a bad idea done badly, and I would lose nothing if this game never existed in the first place. And no, I'm not gonna acknowledge how "AMBITIOUS" this game is or how much "PASSION" and "EFFORT" went into it. I'm not gonna start handing out participation trophies for games doing the bare minimum of having ideas that I don't even think are good anyway. Absolute slog of a game. If I could rate it 0/5 I would.
