Very fun and easy-to-get-into rail shooter. Love the dialogue between the Starfox crew and really appreciate the open-ended nature of the levels. It was very rewarding discovering the requirements for moving onto certain planets, based on how you perform on what level and what you do in it. The short length also helps make it replayable.

how many memes were born from this game? it still slaps even void of any memes

YA IM FUCKING BLASTING SHIT NO IM NOT A FURRY!!!

I love everything about this game. It's characters, controls, levels, music, visuals, world. I honestly can't explain how incredible this game it. I quote so many of the lines all the time. This game is a must play.

i still havent gotten the sector z medal

peppy stOP BRINGING UP MY FUCKING DAD!!!

Just a really solid rail shooter. Sometimes that's all you need.

damn they deadass remade this game how many times bro? its still p goated

I don't think I ever got the hard galaxies on the upper part of the map because I sucked really bad at this game, so finding out about Kat existence like 14 years later makes this game have the most fever dream vibes I have ever seen from a game.

a game so good the series could never figure out how to outdo it or even be comparable in quality without outright ripping off the levels and gameplay 1:1

Isn't it sad that one of the best N64 games is a mediocre space shooter?

the game that made me understand why people play for high scores. easy to learn, hard to master. infinitely replayable. quotable to death.

Possibly the most quotable video game of all time.

This is a game designed to be mastered. Something this short, and with this kind of replay value needs to be extremely fun and have a high enough skill ceiling in order to succeed. Star Fox 64 has those elements in spades. For years I have, on a whim, slapped Star Fox into my N64 and knocked out a quick run in a couple hours, and I never get tired of it.

Some of the most happy memories of my childhood consists in playing Star Fox 64. So much fun.

Is this game actually any good, or does it just seem good because there was nothing else to play on N64?

The most well aged game on the Nintendo 64, easy to pick up and hard to master. Star Fox 64 may seem short and simple but it has a ton of depth baked into replayability that make it like not many other games out there.

Best game on the N64 and in the star fox series. Infinitely replayable.

Always a wonderful trip from start to finish, the character lines are timeless and the action's great

Kind of ugly compared to 3D but like, wow. Gameplay holds up really well and shows that there is no such thing as another good Star Fox game. Also, please don't treat the campaign as a single run experience. This is a game to replay and master, not something you clear in an hour or few.

It is a crime that more games like this aren't made. Also, this game got me into star wars

A great, amazing little shooter game that realistically hasn't aged a day apart from a single level in particular

I honestly think this is the game that aged the best on the N64.
