I know this is considered the lesser of the two TJ&E games, but I still love it.

(sega mega drive & genesis classics 43/58)

For what it is this game is way too long and way too slow. I certainly wouldn't call it bad but I had definitely had enough before even the halfway point of the game. Would probably work better as an early PC game for smaller audiences, with a save system instead of passwords and a good amount of fat trimmed. It does have that energy much more than an average Genesis title, or even its predecessor.

Sega seriously saw a flawed yet original game and instead of trying to build on the actually interesting ideas, they just turned it into a generic scrimblo platformer
Could not be bothered to play past the first level

Surprisingly high-concept and all-around fun game to vibe out to, but it plays really slowly and has WAY too many levels. The aesthetic reminds me of the educational games my parents had on their old computers. A better 1-player experience than the 1-player in OG Toejam & Earl, but it doesn't match the quality of that game's co-op.

I really didn't play this too much compared to 1 and I didn't even like that all that much but can we stop and agree what a title this game has

The brilliant post-punk band's mid 2nd album. Still has all the things worth appreciating- setting, commitment to non-traditional violence, being a game to hang out with friends with. It's got all that stuff, just not as good!

Played this way more than the original just on account of it being the only one we owned. Loved the music and the vibes of Funkotron. Stages were so cool to explore and fun to look at

I wasn't particularly fond of the first game, so I wasn't too unhappy that the second one was more of a straight platformer. Unfortunately it's also a very generic and still very slow platformer.
