Newcomers Erika and Dlanor both bring such life to the story, and brilliantly underpin the story's central theming. The increased focus on Bern and Lambda makes the story's world feel larger and more complete. Natsuhi returns in full force after her remarkable showing in the first episode. And many other returning cast members fill fitting and unique roles.
But, unsurprisingly, the real treat is none other than Battler himself. All his development culminates in an absolutely breathtaking climax that goes above and beyond my expectations for the first episode of Umineko's second half. I'm even more in love with the story prior than I was when I read it, and I am so looking forward to whatever comes next. I expect great things from Battler and Erika's rivalry.

this is the point when you can tell umineko is beginning to melt and i mean that as a compliment
I love Erika and I love Dlanor but this episode just dragged on sooo much. And unlike some other episodes, I didn't feel the good parts were /quite/ good enough to make up for the dragging. Definitely liked some of the revelations, though, and I'm curious where they'll go next.

Um dos episódios mais insanos de toda a franquia When They Cry. Esse episódio introduz a personagem chamada Erika Furudo, que por sinal é genial a inserção dela como papel de detetive.
E o que não falta nesse episódio são momentos épicos, desde o balde água fria na Grande Cortes das Ilusões até o comeback MARAVILHOSO no último capítulo.

i think despite everything, despite all my myriad issues with this series so far, despite the hours and hours of filler and bloat, despite the (at times) kind of cringe and overdone "anime"-y character design and writing (it's fine in the battle of wits scenes, its iffy in the action scenes, and it sucks ass in the SoL scenes (which thankfully don't show up too often)), despite the constant "final act of death note"-ing where at least a couple random people no one gives a shit about keep showing up each episode, despite everything—

There are parts of this episode that feel like they drag on forever... but Erika exists so all is right with the world.

pacing fucking sucks but my lord does it pay off in the ??? section. my opinion of this game before and after i finished it is night and day lol. i was kinda expecting the answer arcs to be similar to higurashi's in that meakashi gives u a clear explanation of watanagashi etc etc, but thats not this games fault its obviously a very different story and ive clearly learned all expectations should be thrown out the window. also dleanor is so cool. DIE THE DEATH
