It is baffling how long I managed to evade this series. Loved it. Wasn't entirely happy with the ending I got but it was still good.

It's three of the best games ever made. I have issues with some of the lost atmosphere and bugs, but it's fucking Mass Effect.

These games are so good they frustrate me. The amount of incredibly well written worldbuilding, characters and lore on display here is astounding. Ignoring the obvious praise that tends to go to the decision making mechanics carrying over for each game, and the general relationships with characters and all that-- This universe is so dense it's impressive. There's so much going on in the background i never stopped thinking about it while playing them. There's just so much, the games feel small by comparison.

I really love this universe, regardless of what i think of the games themselves i just can't not recommend them. These remasters are the best way to play them, too. Some have aged better than others, but oh my lord; the writing.

micheala - i liked it, i was good at paragon, but i must make my world green!
anderson - no Sheperd, my mass effect is running out , quickly use my mass effect.
michaela - suure thing

As a sucker for anything in a sci-fi setting, this was a foundational experience not only for me as a fan of sci-fi, but also as a video game enjoyer. Not having a lot of exposure to RPGs as a kid, this opened my eyes when I first played 1 and 2.

Revisiting these games as an adult and beating 3 for the first time was a joy and I loved my time with the characters. One of the grandest adventures I've ever experienced in video games.

I still have fond memories of leaving Kaidan on Virmire.

No, but seriously, why were the romanceable companions annoying.

Mass Effect 1 Review
I really like this first game in the trilogy. It's not perfect; there were a few things that I didn't really like about it, but I enjoyed a lot more things about it than I hated about it. For one, I didn't like that there wasn't much characterization when it came to squadmates. At least for my playthrough, I only really got maybe three unique conversations with each of the squad (Except for Liara, which I romanced). I would've liked to see more from Kaiden, Garrus, and (especially) Wrex. I got Wrex's loyalty assignment fairly early in my playthrough after maybe two conversations with him, but after I completed it, I just felt that he didn't have much to offer in terms of character and development until that choice (iykyk). Ashley didn't really at all seem like an interesting character to me, or a necessity in my squad so that choice was fairly easy between her and Kaiden. One other nitpick I had with the game is that I felt some of the assignments got to be a little repetitive. It was mainly go to this distress call, kill these enemies and I was finished. One of my favorite parts of this game, however, is this beautifully crafted story. Saren was an amazing antagonist and the twist that it wasn't entirely Saren all along was pretty surprising. I loved that. Another thing I really liked was the combat. I played on insanity, which got easy after a while, but the combat kept me coming back to the game and I love it. I would probably give this game in the series a 4/5.

Mass Effect 2 Review
Holy shit, this game. This game checks all of the boxes for what a sequel should be. The characters are 10 times better than they were in the first game. I love the changes they made with the combat. Since I got all the achievements for this entry, I played it all on insanity. The first game felt like a cakewalk and I was kind of expecting that for the second game, but as soon as I started this game, I could tell that insanity would actually feel like insanity. There were a couple parts where I got stuck and had to leave for a few hours to try and beat it then. I think my favorite part about this sequel, though, is the amazing story and the cast of characters that surround the story. I found it very enjoyable to go around the Normandy after each mission to see if my squad mates had any new dialogue to learn more about them. The story wrapped up very nicely with the suicide mission. I was genuinely shocked by how amazing that final mission was and how much truly went into if your squad mates would survive or not. This game is a masterpiece and I highly recommend it to anyone! 5/5!

Mass Effect 3 Review
Contrary to most people's beliefs, I thought this game was amazing. I loved the dlc that they added to the game and their little respective stories. I will say that there were a few things that I didn't really like, and like most people, it's definitely the ending. I didn't think it was terrible or anything, I just think that it didn't wrap up the story of the reapers nicely. Other than that, though, this game has good combat, characters, and it does wrap up a few of the other story lines nicely. 4/5.

Welp, it made me realize I'm trans.

I never expected to be so involved with a story, truly an achievement in interactive media.

My favorite bug was removed (the squat run in Mass Effect 1), but other than that I'm a HUGE fan of this edition!

Best Video Game trilogy? Close contender.
One of the greatest stories ever told? Yes

ME1:
A great story with great characters and world building, but marred with pretty samey combat and copy paste side quests.

ME2:
An incredible story filled with intimate character relationships and interactions, backed by a mostly improved combat system that suffers a bit from over simplification. For sure has its issue, but it's my favorite in the trilogy.

ME3:
A mediocre game that has the best combat (mostly, that attaching to walls when sprinting is annoying), but suffers greatly in feeling like a cheesy action flick that takes itself way too seriously. It wastes your time in terms of game play and story. Plus, it all leads to an ending that is a joke. ME3 is at its best when it focuses on tying up stuff from ME2 and ME1 (the individual character endings were all pretty great imo), but it's at its worst when trying mostly anything else. The Citadel DLC is the part about this game as it does not take itself very seriously among other improvements.

Overall, my 130 hours in this trilogy were well spent. I must add this collection has a multitude of bugs and glitches. Nothing was super game breaking, but a lot made me restart due to being soft locked. But overall, I can see why this trilogy is so well loved. It's a great road trip, even if the destination is awful.

What can I say, amazing package.

Perfect space opera. Best trilogy in video games

I can't describe how I feel about this! Playing this so far has been comforting, nostalgic, and fun. Sometimes, I can feel the age of the games, but it in no way takes away from the artistry or the immersion. I'm hoping someday in the future we can get a continuation or remaster of this series. Given the state of the gaming industry in recent years, my hope is shaky, but I am looking forward to anything coming next.

"big place..." - "is that your professional opinion, sir?”

PRINCIPALMENTE O 3!!

Remasters and remakes succeed when they make returning to the original iterations unnecessary. The Mass Effect Legendary Edition achieves and even exceeds this expectation. By modernizing and harmonizing game mechanics across each game in the trilogy and adding the majority of DLCs, this is one of the greatest remasters for one of the greatest series ever.
