Eskisini bilmem. Yenisi harika.

The actor's in this game felt like they were being forced to act like stereotypical gangsters from the 1930s

even though the game has a decent sized open world, it really lacks depth, other than that the game is absolutely perfect

A well made remake of the original. I would say the gameplay consists of 3 parts that are balanced rather equally: combat , driving and watching cutscenes. This is a story focused game, so watching so many cutscenes is not a bad thing, though it might annoy you if you need to quit the game but there seems to be no end to the cutscenes at that moment.
The shooting and sneaking part works fine, I played the game on classic difficulty, which is the highest available and taking a hit does serious damage to you. I wish enemies were as fragile on classic difficulty, as it can take up to 7 hits to kill someone , if not hitting the head. They also do not seem very bothered in their behavior or animations, that they have been hit several times. There is a stunned state enemies can get into if they are nearly dead, but that does not feel quite right. There is also melee combat, which is rather basic with only one type of attack and a timed dodge. The driving part is what I had to get used to. In classic difficulty, the driving is set to simulation and you can not change it. That makes the vehicles play very differently than most modern racing games. While braking, you can not steer. There is a good chance you will spin out of control if you take a corner too fast and especially with the cars in the beginning you will feel them struggle to drive uphill. All that makes the driving interesting though, even if it results in having to restart some sections multiple times. There is a race in this game too and boy is that absurdly difficult on classic difficulty. That could easily be the deal breaker for someone. The presentation of the game is consistently good, the city looks way better than the characters though. Performance was good too, but the game gets really buggy if you die a lot, from suddenly missing sounds to infinite loading screens to cutscenes just showing a black screen. All in all, I enjoyed the game and its story, but the combat could have been better.

This game is good, but I have some criticisms that I would like to start with, first of all the chapter which is a race is way too difficult, I really hated that chapter, the gameplay also feels really repetitive a lot of the time which really dragged this game down, that being said the combat/shooting I found to be really fun and I really disliked the driving especially during that race, it's just it felt really monotonous. Where this game shines is the story, I love a good mobster story and this game really delivers with the classic rise and fall structure, I really liked how the entire game was the main character (Tommy) telling a ratting on the family, I also really liked seeing Tommy getting embraced into the mob and then slowly, little by little getting disillusioned with it, I love how quickly the mob turns on Tommy it really shows that after everything he's done for them they only value loyalty, overall good story sort of dragged down by some lacklustre gameplay.

pleasant little crime sim that i thoroughly enjoyed

Good. Snappy and linear, but I honestly prefer the sequel or even the third one (gasp).

Ottimo remake dell'originale, ma troppa libertà creativa in certe cose.

Great game! one of the greatest Mafia experience i've ever had. i just wish it had side content because the game is really lacking in that department

It's honestly really amazing how well the story carries this game because everything else is kinda trash. The gunplay feels sloppy, and driving is okay, but the world also feels flat which when you are comparing it to other open-world games, it just heavily falls short. It's really just the amazing characters and acting that help pull this game across the finish line. Each chapter feels eventful and a real piece of a greater story. If possible I would just experience the story and forget the actual game.

Pros:

-Fun gunplay and mission structure. I loved the assassination levels, the church shootout, the brothel bombing; all of them utilized different mechanics to do something different with the limited capabilities the game offers.
-The map is large and easy to navigate, without being too cluttered.
-I like the characters, and the story is decent.

CONS
-Good GOD, 90% of this game is DRIVING. Even if you skip the transitions, most of the game is still just DRIVING. It gets old FAST.
-Map is big and very empty. There is no side content in the main game, and the free roam content is inessential when it isn't punishingly difficult.
-Collectibles are lame and not worth seeking out.
-Plot is rudimentary, and you can see the "twist" coming from a mile away.

All in all, I had fun, but not nearly enough of it.

This game really nails it's presentation. From the detailed city, to the large variety of vehicles, to the music and radio broadcasts, it lets the setting of prohibition era America really come to life.

Unfortunately that’s where the good pretty much ends. The story starts off okay but becomes the most predictable gangster fare imaginable, while still managing to feel fillery despite how short it is. Couple that with janky driving and some of the most uninspired gunplay I’ve seen in years, all playing in smooth 30fps on the ps5 and you get a game that is sadly a lot more forgettable than its solid foundation deserves.

I bought this in the current Xbox sale for about £8, having not played one of the Mafia games before, and polished it off over the last few evenings. I was expecting a knock-off GTA clone, but it's not, really. Instead, it's 20 completely linear narrative-led missions set in a relatively small, open-ish version of Prohibition era Chicago. You progress from one mission to the next consecutively, with no downtime in between; there are no side-quests or choices as to the order in which you complete each mission, and while you can (sort of) explore the world when you're driving from one part of each level to the next, there's no reason to do so as there's nothing to find. It feels very PS2-era in that regard (which makes sense, seeing as its a remake of a game from 2002), but I found the focus on the story missions with no open-world bloat padding out the runtime quite refreshing.

The missions themselves are...fine. You drive to places, shoot people and generally do lots of gangstery things. You hang out the windows of old-timey cars firing a Tommy gun. You steal lorries full of swag and drive them to lock-ups. You attach bombs to the undersides of rival mobsters' cars and then blow them up. You talk to people using words like 'Youse', 'Dames' and 'Gats' unironically. In fact, pretty much every gangster film cliché is ticked off here, including a section where you have to take someone out using a gun you find taped to the back of a toilet cistern.

Despite how hackneyed the writing and generally mediocre the gameplay is, however, I found the game overall had a certain charm to it - big seven-out-of-ten energy, as the kids say. The voice acting is surprisingly decent, and the story, as much as you've seen it all before, was sufficiently entertaining to keep me playing. The De Niro-lookalike main character, Tommy, is a hatchet man with a heart, and I found him endearing enough to see his story through to its inevitable, bloody conclusion. Despite playing this on the Xbox, nothing about is especially spectacular or technically demanding, and it only took me eight hours to finish, so I'd say it's probably better suited to the Steam Deck (and you can currently get it from CDKeys for less than seven pounds).v That said, I'm not in any rush to play Mafias 2 or 3 based on my time with this.

If you're after something undemanding and you enjoy the period of America that the game quite authentically portrays, then give it a go.

"But family? Family is forever..."

This is how a remake should be. Sticked to the original but in most modern way possible such as nice additions to the story and mechanics.

It has everything to be good, but it's just boring.

Gostei bastante.

Story 5 | Gameplay 4.3 | Audio 3.5 | Visual 5 | Details 3 | Entertainment 5 | Open World 3.3

Total 4.2

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a faithful remake of the classic gangster game with shiny new visuals and some gameplay tweaks. The story and characters are still great, and driving around Lost Heaven feels super atmospheric. But honestly, combat gets clunky, some of the missions are frustrating, and it just doesn't have the same impact as it did back in the day. If you're a diehard fan of the original, this remake's worth it, otherwise, you might be better off dusting off the old version.

I really liked this one. One of the most enthralling mafia stories i've got to experience.

one of the best games i've ever played, it's a game that, i'm playing and the hours pass and when the game ends, i say;
" holy shit, it's the end already?! "

the fantasy of being in a mafia came true nevertheless the gameplay was very bland with a very limiting environment (not having open world aspects killed the game for me)
But with the bad comes a very compelling story.

I didn't play the original so I don't know how it compares but I had a lot of fun playing this. Best Mafia game in my opinion.
