this was a neat game, but i feel like i have to kind of dock it for basically beginning the trend of nintendo releasing games that aren't finished and then releasing the rest of it through updates!

this game literally changed my life. such a fun and unique concept that has stayed the same at its core, yet changed so much over the years. deeply interesting lore as well, and great music on top of it???? absolute peak i fear

Came out on my birthday and was one of my most anticipated games ever. I was so excited to play a shooter by Nintendo that was based on a fresh new IP. It lived up to the hype and presented itself as a new mainstay in Nintendo's line up.

Game was so fun when it came out

OH YEA 3RD PERSON SHOOTER BUT NINTENDO

Nintendos 2015 shooter masterpiece, one of the best things to come from Nintendo in the past 10 years. The single player was fun, the multi-player was great, Nintendo knows how to make a great game, even a shooter.

RIP to the realest one out there

I was the person who painted behind the spawn. You're fucking welcome.

I associate this game with a very teenager-y feeling time in the general online Nintendo fandom

This was a console-seller for the Wii U for me. The gameplay is incredibly fun and the aesthetic is one of the strongest in all of Nintendo's library. When it first came out, I would start up the game and refight Octavio, before going online and getting shortly booted out because my internet was so bad at the time. Still, the Splatoon series remains one of the best online games Nintendo has ever had.

I was not excited for this game in the slightest until I saw it on launch day from a friend. Ended up putting a ton of time into it, sad that eventually save scumming for stats ended up being a thing at higher levels. Campaign was surprisingly good for the time and preferred to Splat2's base game one. Sad that it's now a lost game.

I don't usually play shooting games and when I do, I usually forget about them.
Splatoon was different, left a lasting impression. An arena shooter with ink and diving in it to avoid enemy fire is such a cool concept. I loved the story mode and the character designs.

As a new IP, Splatoon is simply phenomenal. But even as a game with several new entries that released almost a decade ago and recently had its online functionality killed, it's STILL worth giving a shot.

The multiplayer gets SO addicting I swear...if the story mode was longer or there were more features for multiplayer and such this would be 4.5 stars :)

My first ever shooter, if you can even call it that
Lots of fond memories of playing match after match during my summer holidays while sipping on banana milk
