i really have nothing bad to say about this game, as i think every part of this game is masterfully done. the mental gymnastics you have to do to ration your supplies or whether or not to kill a zombie (fuck crimsons) is super immersive and really grasps the title of "survival horror". the camera angles and sound design add to the immersion of helplessness and grasping for lifelines, and the story may be predictable but it still hits when it comes down to it. nothing in this game comes cheap, and it takes a great deal of effort to get things done and it makes it all the more worth it when you get out of that crazy mansion. the map design is absolutely genius and its phenomenal to think something like this was designed all the way back in the 90s. i cant speak much to this game as a remake, but it definitely works amazingly as a survival horror masterpiece.

i will die on the hill that the gamecube release is the definitive version of this game

Cuando eres el mejor survival horror de la saga

This is the greatest survival horror game of all time. The crimson head mechanic is what makes this game a masterpiece, as the backtracking to previous areas with previously killed zombies serves as a punishment for overzealous zombie killing. Every zombie becomes a more significant cost/benefit analysis in a way that no other Resident Evil or survival horror game has quite managed to pull off in my opinion.

This is exactly the same as all the bad remakes people like clowning on but everyone loves it for some reason, even the most hardcore contrarians. At least nobody tries to claim that RE2make is a replacement for the original.

had a blast playing this especially because I streamed the entire thing and my friends who I hate kept lying to me and trying to get me killed at every opportunity. the multiple endings thing is kind of weird and I got this chill ass ending where chris and jill just leave on the helicopter and there's no final boss and it was kind of underwhelming lol. that's on me for not finding Rebecca though but that's the sort of old timey stuff I'd expect from a 1996 videogame, you're supposed to play it several times and try to get all the endings and such. a very different experience from more modern RE which was my entry point but an amazing experience nonetheless. can't really see this one getting remade again but hey if they do it I'll gladly buy it

The absolute pinnacle of survival horror.

Truly a masterpiece, the most enjoyable experience I've had with a RE game. The music is amazing, and the atmosphere is next level. One of the greatest of all time.

The best survival horror game.
The best remake.
