King's Quest V marked a new era in the franchise with the move to a full point and click interface and VGA graphics. While the visuals are massively improved from previous games, the puzzles and general gameplay didn't see the same level of improvement, and while the story is a serviceable continuation of the overarching plot of King's Quest, it's nothing all that special. The voice acting quality is also all over the place.
